Why does today's pop music have to be so degenerate?
Look, I understand that every era has its share of shit, but at least bad songs from decades ago still had actual musicianship and some lyrical depth to them.
Modern pop music doesn't even have that.
It's all designed to be as shocking, mindless, obnoxious and repulsive as possible.
What all of these pathetic excuses for musicians lack in talent, they make up for in a gaudy, bullshit image.
Every hit song now is about partying, drug abuse, screwing everyone in the club and ego-stroking over whiny synth loops and Auto-Tuned vocals.
It's the most annoying and unlistenable dreck I've ever heard.
It's so awful, that I don't even blame these Muslim countries in the Middle East for banning Western music, because it's the soundtrack to degeneracy.
What will it take for modern music to return to the level of creativity and listenable quality it had decades ago?

Is there any modern music that is actually any good? And is there anyone else here who refuses to listen to any new music because of how bad it's become? I feel like the only one... Everyone seems to listen to whatever garbage they put on the radio and call the next big hit.

but that said, who gives a fuck? there are plenty of less-popular songs about the same goddamn thing, but hipsters eat that shit up because its acoustic and has shoddy vocals.
