Well? Who was it? My personal vote goes to Eazy, though I guess a lot of people disagree
Ice Cube
Eazy for me aswell my man
Eazy was pretty lame, if we're just going off quality of output then Dre, but Cube was definitely the best lyricist seeing as he wrote a lot of their best rhymes while he was in NWA.

Why was Eazy "lame"?
>>64589325
I don't get why he doesn't get as appreciated. Maybe it was his death before he could rake in some new talent like Dre did.
Ice Cube. Eazy-E also never wrote his own shit.
>>64590347
NONE of it? Even when dre and such left?
>>64590704
ren was writing his shit when cube and dre fucked off
>>64591150
He still had some pretty good beat and rhythm

It's not like Eazy-E and MC Ren were bad rappers, but they couldn't hold their own by themselves.
I personally prefer Ice Cube's solo albums to Dre's solo albums for the lyricism.

I dunno, there's just something that attracts me to eazy. Like, it's nothing particular about lyrics or beat, maybe he just has the pull of personality to him.
I figure since this is /mu/ I'll be posting music here.

MC Ren was my favorite, but in terms of real talent and skill, probably Ice Cube
Arabian Prince for sure. Everyone else sold out.
>>64589301
Eazy-E
>>64591537
I'd say Ren is more technically consistent than Cube in terms of actual verse constructions during the NWA days, but the subject matter Cube addressed gave NWA artistic credibility, and that, coupled with a successful solo career that pretty much set the groundwork for '90's West Coast political hip hop, is why Cube is much more famous

If you listen to "Foe Tha Love of $" by Bone Thugs n Harmony, Eazy's verse on that song was one written by Eazy himself, and it's honestly one of the worst verses I've ever heard. Admittedly, this was his last music video before he died. The rest of the song is pretty fucking good though
since i really couldn't give a fuck about NWA and how overrated ice-cube and dr.dre as """artists"""
eazy-e is the best cause he's a laugh
>>64595089
*smugly chuckles*
Krazy D, not even close.
>>64595127
ice cube and dr dre are major cunts and hypocrites
eazy was just having a laugh
