I know Lithium was about a guy who was hurting but then found religion or something like that. I think some of his other lyrics were made up nonsense. I guess that kind of fits the grunge image though

He said most of the songs he made didn't really have any meaning. If you look at the lyrics of most of their songs, you'll see the contradictions and inconsistencies.
Still really like their music. He may not have been the best but he was unique
They're accessible so they have mass appeal and they're vague so they can mean what you want them to
You can take one of his songs and easily connect it with your own life, something I can appreciate about his music and a reason he's so popular
