Robertinho de Recife - Jardim da Infância (1977)
>BPM, Psychedelic/Progressive rock/folk, Frevo, Raga Rock. Almost entirely instrumental, full of great Brazilian inspired guitars solos.
>"a pinnacle of Brazilian psychedelia: a work that is dizzily joyous and quite unpredictable, offering long stretches of West Coast acid rock a la Santana, passages of delicate, spiritual folk, touches of ethnic "exotica", and lots more to boot. Plus it was led by a guitarist who was just 12 years old!"

Lula Côrtes & Lailson aka Satwa - Satwa (1973)
>Brazilian Psychedelic Folk, raga folk, instrumental. Close to the folk-ish side of Popol Vuh.
>“Brazilian 70's dreamlike, acid-folk guitar project. It's largely an acoustic guitar orientated "trip". Their eponymous album (a private press LP originally released in 1973) provides emotional, luminous Latin psych vibes with omnipresent "raga" harmonies. The duet is composed by Lula Côrtes (on guitar and popular Morocco sitar) and Lailson de Holanda Cavalcanti (12 strings guitar, voice). One composition feature the very young Robertinho Do Recife (he was 8yo only) on electric guitar. Constantly imaginative with dense buzzing ragas, this one is definitely essential for fans of progressive folk, eastern sounds and peaceful ambiences.”

m b v - Discography (1985-2013) (various qualities)
>[Early] post-punk, indie pop, dream pop; [Later] shoegaze

>[Late] https://mega.nz/#!yA5XQY4K!Dr1ETsJ-sHnmIrZk8iLnWASd_Em1DCZYHeNbn-2jMLA
Early includes everything from 1985 to 1990, right before the release of Loveless. Their last album in this era was Glider, which includes an Early rendition of Soon, and is their first step into the archetypal shoegaze sound
Later includes Loveless through m b v, their latest release after a twenty year hiatus. These are the sounds that define the genre and what most people associate the band with.
If you haven't heard their early stuff, I highly recommend it. It pretty cool to see a more or less typical brit pop band come to define a genre of music over the six years since their first album
The discography includes:
[Early]

>This is Your Bloody Valentine (1985)
>The New Record By My Bloody Valentine (1986)
>Ecstasy (1987)
>Strawberry Wine (1987)

Brostep was very much a thing 6 years ago. Even some artists like Excision and Datsik were making it around 2009. I'd say it reached it's peak at that time. Now it's all Monstercat kiddiewinks with the same generic presets.

first I'll search the archive using method in OP
then I'll search http://mediafiretrend.com/ which is about half deadlinks in my experience, but a really easy way to find stuff quick.
then I do google using, in this case, "site:blogspot.com pixies bbc"
the first hit was the blog with all these links. since I'd seen what was in our archive already, I knew we needed half of this stuff, so I copied everything into this thread. finding a full discog of MEGA links in 320 was pretty lucky; for the first hit, luckier still.
I've also been using http://uloz.to/ (which is out of the czech republic) for a few weeks, too. I haven't had any problems, but i do run noscript and adblock. the cool thing with that one is it's searchable right from my browser.

anyway, start with Doolittle. more sad and sparse is earlier, more pop-y and produced is later. the B-Sides function like a cohesive album to me, they're all awesome. the EP(purple tape) is their demo. the BBC thing is awesome, really raw, hard versions of most of their catalog.
