Will Radiohead go down in history as the greatest band of their era?
>>64423089
They already have. Nothing in the 2000's has came close.
>>64423583
This
>>64423089
I think they will be remembered as rock music's last great band.
>>64423649
Is This It? was rock's last great album
How many other bands have been able to have a very large fanbase, attain mass critical acclaim, yet still be able to experiment musically throughout there career? I can only think of the Beatles.

Socially, sure.

GOAT
I'm sick of seeing this generic, boring band praised around here. Hurr durr intertwining guitars! So experimental! That incestuous island hasn't produced anything good since the 80's.

>>64423089
1997-2001? Yes. Before and after no. Although I do love The Bends.
>>64423089
From the Bends onwards they are pretty consistent with their track record. Lots of different sounds to keep their music fresh.
I say yeah they would be.
>>64424892
They released a top 3 album in their discography after 2001 with In Rainbows.
they're probably the greatest of all time
not because of experimentation or anything but just because of songwriting. they write better songs than everyone else. people bitch about them only being praised for their faux-experimentalism when in reality the reason they are so vastly enjoyed and lauded is because of the ridiculous skill they have in composing songs
