The best song on the album?
>>
>>64395525
Loveless is the one critically acclaimed record poseurs feel comfortable with liking. I'm not sure why, it's probably because it's britpop (poseurs often like pop music "ironically") and they like unnecessary feedback (that's why they pretend to like LRD).

Damn, where did you guys find all these obscure records? I'm sure you all have very vast knowledge of music and totally don't listen to the same ~200 albums the people on this board post over and over again.
>>
>>64395590
I don't know where you're hearing feedback, all the guitar was on a clean channel. The effects were all done in the studio. I don't think it's flawless , I like it though, and one should be able to appreciate the fact that it trailblazed a genre. There's also nothing wrong with pop if it's good. Most pop just isn't good

>one should be able to appreciate the fact that it trailblazed a genre

Why? You wouldn't call designers of fonts used for the album art musicians, or inventors of more recyclable packaging, so why would you call that people who just used a couple of effects in the studio?
>>
>>64395485
you forgot to state any flaws
>>
>>64395770
>use a couple of effects in the studio
I don't really think you're grasping how novel the things Kevin Shields did were. He wasn't just pushing a button, a was using the studio almost as an instrument, pushing it's usefulness far beyond what any other work of Popular music had before, and in doing so made the quintessential album of a newly defined genre

>>

>was using the studio almost as an instrument
This is typical poseur slang. I bet you'd also praise "the composition" and "the textures" if I asked you why you like a record.
>>
>>64395907

Having a fanbase composed entirely of RYMdrones is a huge flaw.
>>
>>64395449
More like itt poseur core
>>
>>64395916
How is that poseur slang? I hate you faggots because, on a whim, you discredit legitimate reasons that something is good. You've already proven you're talking out of your ass when you called it "britpop with feedback". I thought you "anti-poseurs" didn't like it when people postured, yet you're the one being a contrarian shithead, plugging your ears when I tell you why something is held in high regard. You're a part of the reason this board is a shithole
>>
>Didn't even choose the best Can album
Wake me up
>>
>>64396006
>How is that poseur slang?
Because it's just a pretty way of saying "muh production".
> I thought you "anti-poseurs" didn't like it when people postured, yet you're the one being a contrarian shithead, plugging your ears when I tell you why something is held in high regard.
Too bad poseurs don't explain shit, they just talk about "muh composition" and "muh textures" without being able to explain what makes the composition and the textures good.
>>
>>64395918
well I can agree with you on this. rym is worse than /mu/ sometimes.

Dude wtf r u saying, he had distortion. Amp overdrive and fuzz. Not much guitar multi tracking, if that's what you mean, but guitar feedback was one of their primary sample sources. U don't kno shit.

SAW
>>
>>64396934
You're right, my mistake, he did use distortion and he sampled feedback, but that was it. Way less than other bands with similar sounds had. My point was just how he experimented a lot with the studio and everything to get the sound he wanted. Use full words, by the way
>>
>>64395449
You must really fucking enjoy pretentious experimentation if you think Tago Mago is flawless.
Loveless certainly has at least one major flaw: the shit DRUMMING.
>>
>>64396737

>>64395449

>>
>>64397543
If I could somehow take the drumming out of Loveless I would and I would get a perfect album.
It's so incongruous with the symphony thing Shield's is doing with the noise that I wonder if he regrets not firing Colm sometimes.

So if you like an album before it gains a huge fanbase, and then it does and the fanbase happens to be awful, you stop liking it as much?
That is literally the most hipster thing you can do, and this is coming from someone who hates using the word hipster.
