What's the rarest thing in your collection, /mu/?
Mine is The Minus 5's debut EP.
That or Swans' Not Here Not Now, but that seems like cheating since it was limited release.

Saw a first American pressing of Filth by Swans in a record store in Melbourne last week. Would have loved to buy it but didn't have the capital.

So that, in an alternate universe.
>>
>>64387297
Filth is really common now m8 especially in burgerland

Rarest by vinyls pressed? or most valuable?

Estes Brothers - Transitions (1971 rare psych gem, repressed in 1995, the first pressing from the 70's never sold online)

Beatles Sgt Pepper, Bob Dylan Blonde on Blonde, Beach Boys Pet Sounds, all original mono pressings.

Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin concert bootlegs pressed in the 70s.

David Bowie, Star (1978), a pretty great live.

Definitely havent found any stuff on that level since ive been in Los Angeles

It does have exclusive stuff on it, but it's been floating around on the internet.

My version is in much better shape than this.
>>
original exmilitary
>>
>>64391575
Yes that's what I meant.
>>
Off the top of my head:

B L A C K I E - Gen LP (Maybe 50 copies pressed, though I can't quite remember at the moment.)

Akimbo - Live To Crush (500 copies pressed and sent to stores for RSD one year, but the label recently unearthed around 3 dozen promo copies. I got one of the promos before the label jacked up the price)

Death Grips - Exmilitary (Does anyone know how many copies Third Worlds had pressed? Not sure if it's all that rare, but we all know it's highly sought after.)

Food For Animals - Belly (300 copies on black vinyl, 200 on gold -- I have one of each)

Fucked Up - No Pasaran/Circling the Drain 7" (Debut release that isn't a demo, not sure how many copies but I doubt it's more than 1000. I picked it up at a Closet Monster show in 2002 because they did distro for plenty of their fellow Canadian punk/etc. bands who were unknown at the time. I almost picked up the debut 7" from Protest the Hero, that night.)

Probably Takeshi Terauchi - Rashomon.
Idk if its that rare or not, but its a Japanese surfer rock album from 1972, I am fairly certain there aren't many of them out there for purchase right now.

Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish. Literally found the set looking through a bunch of shitty albums left over in a house my grandparents bought. Very rare, was only available through the mail, contains cover art by Andy Warhol. If I remember correctly, it was also produced by Joe Meek, which is cool. Set can go up to $2000.
>>
In/casino/out on clear vinyl. Think it was limited to 500

I used to have this
Bought for 15 bucks used
Record store hadnt even put it up for sale yet, it was behind the counter and i told them to hold it for me, and bought it next day
Ended up selling it to a friend for 70 bucks
Then 2 years later its worth like 600 dollars

Kill me

I have some completist-oriented CDs that you wouldn't expect to be rare, but are because the material is otherwise unavailable.

>Charlie Rich's early-60's recordings for Groove Records, released in the 90's on RCA's budget Camden label
>Worth at least 60 bucks according to Discogs, Amazon, and eBay

>The Flamin' Groovies' complete Sire recordings on two discs with bonus tracks
>Goes for like 80 bucks

>CD by obscure 50s country singer Lattie Moore that lists for over 100 dollars new, 35 used (I found one sealed on a Finnish rockabilly online record store and promptly opened it)

>A few Tiny Tim CDs worth upwards of 40 bucks
>>
I possess a copy of an original pressing of Smiley Smile in pristine condition.

Well I own an original 1967 test pressing of SMiLE signed by all five Beach Boys who also wrote the dates on which they each would die.

Legendes 2x7in split from a handful of Quebecois black metal artists.

you're probably not here anymore, but i've been meaning to buy a copy of belly since it's hanging around through their label and/or discogs

when did you buy your copy? seems to me that the label is pretty fucking dead, so it looks as if buying from them is unsavory
