Marcel went on Lemonade's release page on RYM and called it a horrible album and the worst release of the year.
Somebody responded with: "no shade, but you're not better than anyone else for not liking mainstream pop music, actually, if you express it with that kind of attitude, it's kinda worse. If you don't understand pop music, that's fine I guess, it's not for everyone, just don't give your opinion in a way that feels insulting to those who get it. :)"

and Marcel responds with: "i literally said in my previous comment "don't try to act like i'm being objective here, try to understand that there's such a thing as an opinion and RYM is full of them. that's the purpose of this site." i said what i said because i don't think you should have to "turn off" your brain in order to enjoy an album because that's not how albums fucking work. if you have to go out of your way to enjoy anything, then that thing is probably not a good piece of art, in my eyes, but i'm not going to get mad at anybody else for enjoying it. again, just stating my opinion."
The fact that Marcel even thought he was in the position to review this album as a non-black person is disgraceful.
