>October
>essential
Try The Unforgettable Fire
>>64300928
Thin Lizzy kind of sounds like Springsteen
>>64301036
replace October with The Unforgettable Fire and this is totally correct
War is absolutely a must
>>64301052
eh, October is kind of shitty, but I feel like promoting early post-punk style U2 - I know I listen to it more than The Unforgettable Fire which to me feels like mediocre songs in the future U2 style and Pride
>>64301160
there's always Under a Blood Red Sky which is Post-Punk U2 at their live peak
>>64300898
The ones where u2 doesn't contribute

War
The Unforgettable Fire
The Joshua Tree
Achtung Baby
Zooroopa
Original Soundtracks 1
All of these cover their various styles and progression. The best out of the bunch are Original Soundtracks 1 and Achtung Baby imo. Pop is also worth checking out as it is their most electronic orientated, pretty interesting stuff.
>listening to u2 in 2016
>>64301549
>le u2 is bad meme
Unknown Pleasures
>>64300898
everything they did up All you can leave behind from the year 2000 is either ok or pretty good. avoid albums after that one.
the Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby would be the most obvious answers.
>>64301613
>they aren't
haha
>>64301801
>implying you've given them a serious listen
>>64301801
Why are still teenagers allowed on 4chan?
>>64300898
From Boy to Breaking (the waves that is)
Bonobos, Thedge, Larry Mullin Sr.'s Son and Adam Caly-2,000 pounds, those lovable lads from Liverpool, play some great rock n roll, uh, music.
>>64301845
>>64301869
listen old man your dadrock isnt good in 2016
>>64301883
I'm 19 but okay
>>64300898
Great Tier
>War
>The Unforgettable Fire
>The Joshua Tree
Good Tier
>Boy
>October
>Achtung Baby
Decent Tier
>Zooropa
>Pop
Shit Tier
>everything past the 90s
I am old enough to have bought Pop in cassette and All that you cant leave behind is definitely better.
In fact Walk On is the last great U2 single.
>>64300898
What the fuck is with all these U2 threads recently? Bono paying you or some shit?
>>64302216
Just curious, are you a fan of 90s U2 in general? I find that younger U2 fans who like their more "out-there" 90s work have a bit of distaste for ATYCLB.
Personally I think it along with Bruce Springsteen's The Rising was a solid comeback album that really captured the post-9/11 mood well, even if unintentionally so.
