It started off a bit rough, but I ended up liking. Kind of disappointing I couldn't see them when they were in Boston. I also imagine it'd sound better at a concert venue, though. Panda's falsetto is sounded a little dodgy there, though

The biggest problem with Animal Collective live, especially these performances of Floridada, is that they are trying really hard to recreate the studio sound rather than working with their limitations. I would much rather they changed it so it didn't adhere to their studio version so much.

That's three points too high. A 7/10 is a good score. Painting With is a bad album. We got a legitimate 7/10 with Sleep Cycle, arguably the best Animal Collective related album to come out after ODDSAC.

I think it could be that noah wasnt totally happy with how PW turned out.
On this tour you can tell he was a lot more into his own songs like Loch Raven and Daily Routine in terms of vocal delivery.
Defiantly some of his best performances in years. Glad I got to see it.

i've always slightly preferred that version of guys eyes tbqh. i know noah doesn't want to lean on the same sort of schtick and repeat himself, but he really does have such a great ear for sampling. he should do another heavily samples based album imo.

the sample defiantly makes it sound more like something from person pitch,
but I also love the MPP version.
Its interesting how it kinda bridges that gap.
the sampling on PP is great and one of a kind but i think you could also look at it as a sort of crutch for songwriting. maybe now he's more comfortable with doing things all himself.
