How do you find new music to listen to?
I've my own methods, which I won't reveal. I ask through pure curiosity, and in the hopes that perhaps it'll give me some insight into the rather homogeneous tastes on this board.
A lot of RYM genre trawling, getting recs from collage threads, etc
I use spotify's discover weekly playlist

Interesting.
Again out of curiosity, what did last week's discover playlist consist of?
Has this week's playlist been released yet?
>>64284380
It changes every Monday and it's tailored to your musical tastes. Last week, the playlist had Zebrahead, N.W.A., Foo Fighters and Slash for me.

Thanks for the explanation.
That said, "discover weekly playlist" suggests that each playlist will present artists with some degree of obscurity. The artists you just named are all very prolific in the public space.
You don't have to respond to that. It's just an observation.

spotify, chart and collage threads mostly desu
but then again I like a lot of pop music so I can always just check whatever's in the current charts

They do, but there's no guarantee that said obscure music will be good, and more often than not, it isn't.
Spotify weekly recs are actually really good specially the ones on the first line, also RYM wich is obvsly the best one
rym lists are really helpful also charts
sometimes i finda youtube channel dedicated to a certain genre and find a lot of good unknown.
rarely /mu/ recs
genre charts on RYM, reading about artists I like and discovering their influences and related artists, Fantano, the Wire, p4k, Marcel, google
and of course /mu/
