how do I into classical music?
I want to impress normies and sound like I know stuff
>>64282886
That's not how you impress normal people
>>64282886
>I want to impress normies and sound like I know stuff
Then don't
Get into jazz because you'll probably find a DUDE WEED connection easier.
>>64282900
sure it is
I'm already really good at chess and I speak 4 languages and normies eat that shit up
I'm only classical music and a cat away from being a James bond villain
>>64282936
if you're not going to be helpful don't post >>64282961
I would never do drugs what kind of degenerate do you take me for
>I like to impress normies with my unlimited knowledge
>>64282886
you should listen to philip glass, erik satie and stockhausen
then everyone will bow to your superiority
>>64282886
You don't actually need to know shit to impress normies because they can't verify anything you say.
Oh hey I found a thread where the anons aren't being little shits
>>64283047
it's more about creating the illusion of knowledge
I never tell people I'm smart I just let them come to their own (wrong) conclusions
>>64283109
>I trick people into thinking I'm smart, what they don't know is that I'm ACTUALLY DUMB HAHAHAHA WHAT AN EVIL PLAN *rubs hands*
>>64283174
>>64282886
>I want to impress normies and sound like I know stuff
Normies don't give a fuck, it will just alienate you as you will be unable to relate to their music tastes.
At best people will think your some "Le wrong generation" autist, and awkwardly complement your taste because they have nothing better to say. At worst people will think your a pretentious uptight asshole who they will want nothing to do with.
And with your current attitude to approaching classical, you will pick up some really garbage taste that anyone with a cursory knowledge in art music will smell a mile away and recognize you as the insecure fedora you really are.
>>64283429
>you can't connect with people who have different taste and interests
Only a normie would say this. You can't fool me
>>64283429
>basing all your decisions on how much they make retards like you
yeah good look with that
>>64283429
who cares I don't want to impress retarded music snobs
god imagine actually caring about music like some kind of autist
>>64283008
i'd bet $100 you're really ugly and bad with women tho
> Op's a 14 year old boy
>>64283684
I have had several sex
>>64283585
Meant connecting with people over music taste, but w/e
>>64283662
In that case you don't even need to listen to classical, just telling people you listen to classical and 2-3 classical CDs laying around in your car should be enough. If you really feel like going the extra mile just look up "best of" x composer albums on Spotify.
Enjoy your shit taste m8, come back after you get tired of drowning in intellectual pussy
>>64283830
>shit taste
I'm not the one who cares about music made by dead old white men
>>64283174
>Going through the trouble of flipping the picture
cute barista asked what I'm listening to,
I show her jewel case for Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto featuring Gary Graffman on piano and say
>Rachmaninov,
she says
>"Oh he's some pianist, lol"
>>64285407
She was embarrassed for you that you were publicly listening to schmaltz like Rachmaninov and pretending it was classical. Only one step away from a Star Wars soundtrack.
>this whole thread
>>64282886
Holy fuck you make me sick OP
I rememebr when I was 13 and listened to beethoven and Mozart and thought I was smarter than everyone else
>>64282886
If some normie tells you how AWESOME his favourite pop star is. All you need is to say "'I prefer Beethoven"
Listen to Beethoven's 9th. I'm listening to it now.
Some say the finale is crude and in bad taste, but I don't get it. It gives me a boner.
>>64283235
is this an extremely rare pepe
>>64285551
kill yourself christ
Scriabin > Rachmaninoff though
If you're a vivid, emotional guy, go for Russian late romantics like Rachmaninov
If you're stoic and intellectual (lol) go for Mozart or modern stuff
>>64285604
being an edgy 12 year old helped me find some mozart CD in my parents basement a certain light airy staccato led me to the realization that "it's like they're playing real notes just like on my sister's piano" and then when I finally goaded my mother into taking me to start violin lessons the teacher told me I should play the viola instead because it's her instrument of choice, so 10+ years later now I play both
And playing led me into listening to more composers, and building a musical mentality away from pleb-core
>/classical/ is dead! long live /classical/!
>>64282886
You go to see actual good orchestras, then talk about what happened.
>>64282886
>I want to impress normies and sound like I know stuff
This is fucked up on so many levels but I'm pretty sure the normiest normies don't give a shit about classical music, you won't impress anyone and you'll just be out of touch.
