How does a genre built on simple meleody's with honest lyrics, turn so over processed and empty ?
Nashville ground it down to its most marketable and undemanding form and the average Country doesn't care enough to question it.

Even with lesser more traditional artists around, the feeling can't be brought back or replicated.
There isn't much of a real country identity in America anymore. 30-40 years ago most rural people still had connections to farm life, but now the identity is some combination of Jeff Foxworthy, teen mom, and Jackass.
Chet Atkins happened. Nashville numbers happened.
still some good Country around. It's not mainstream though, you have to look, Chet Atkins did some good stuff but he set Nashville on a path to complete mediocrity.
