This is basically what I gathered. The "image" pitchfork projects is incompatible with their corporate culture.
This means fuckall as far as the integrity of the dudes who sit down and write the reviews. Are they somehow beholden to the interests that fund the site?
The very fact that he is so concerned with image and authenticity makes me very suspicious of him. People who really care about music don't think about that shit. You either like something or you don't. You either think Pitchfork is a good resource or you don't.
