ITT: Vocalists with god tier ranges
>>64172521
I love him so much. He's my Elvis.
serious pipes etc. etc.
SOME
>>64172541
Taken too soon ;(
You like Tim Buckley stuff?
>here's the thing about Freddy
>>64172563
He's pretty good but I never fell in love with his music the way I did with Jeff's. I'm sure it has something to do with Jeff having only 1 finished album and the whole mystery surrounding his future projects.
>>64172587
ok dude, who is this meme?
Pf? fred/ who >?!/ freddiE mercury was the GAYEST PLUMBER TO EVER GRACE THIS SAD PLANET
Or at least he used to. A bass who also has a really strong falsetto.
>>64172521
His dad was better desu
>>64172619
I'm the same, don't know what it is, sounds cheesy but Jeff just has some way of really emotionally connecting you to his songs.
>>64172707
Afraid not. Sad to say it, but Jeff outdid Tim's whole discography with one album. God know what he would have gone on to accomplish.
>>64172707
This is true.
>>64172977
Have you listened to Tim's discography? Starsailor and Lorca are far superior to Grace. Not to say that Grace isn't good but it doesn't hold a candle to what Tim did.
>>64173031
Listened to all of it and although you could be more wrong it would be quite a feat.
>>64172977
What a completely shit opinion. Jeff never made melodies that compare with his fathers.
>but Jeff outdid Tim's whole discography with one album.
maybe if you are some tasteless woman.
Even outside of Lorca and Starsailor there are way better ones. Hello Goodbye is better.
Range is Ridiculous
>>64173074
I've seen this opinion before from time to time and whenever it comes up I've got to ask myself if it's just the /mu/ instinct to be a contrarian snowflake against something with broader appeal or you really are this delusional.
>>64173144
No, you just have really shit taste.
Seriously.
Jeff was basically just above Robert Plant tier. Tim was a whole other level of melody and soul.
>>64173196
I love Song to the Siren, can you please point me to some other songs like this from him?
>>64173196
I'm still not sure whether to go with option A or B, honestly. Could you go a little more in depth into what establishes Tim's "whole other level of melody and soul"?
>>64173295
lol there isn't anything he just had more albums in his life time
>>64173246
>>64173295
are you that other guy? cause if you are and you are asking this then it's clear you haven't heard Tim's music to realize why he is better.
Honestly I am not up for typing much more cause my hands hurt. Your best bet is to listen to Goodbye and Hello. If you approach it on it's own terms, and accept that it was from a time when artists could be completely sincere you will find it's one of the of the best collections of songs ever made. The fact that album isn't in the National Registry for preservation as historical landmark is frankly appalling.
Musicians and heads know his jazz albums are the best he did, but even in the pop format he was a god.
When I hear Jeff it doesn't really compare. He had a great voice but wasn't put ever in the right place to grow as an artist. It just sounds like showboaty crooning and 80's metal shrieking to me.
Tim was very fortunate to have talented people helping him write songs too. Gary Lucas is great and all but they never got the time to communicate as well as they could have musically. And even then at some point it probably would have devolved into hipster Led Zeppelin.
>>64173671
Nah I'm OP, yeah the Jazzy stuff I find a bit harder to listen to, but willing to give it another shot.
>>64173767
An in-between is Happy Sad. maybe try that.
Also just do drugs.
>>64173144
Theyre just special snowflakes
Jeffs better senpai
>>64173671
I'd already said I'd listened to his albums so telling me to listen to one doesn't help much. Neither does giving me a defensive caveat to how I should be approaching him to appreciate him properly really help your case. But your theatrical estimation of the album's significance assures me you aren't a contrarian at least. Mystery solved.
I still suspect you just have an innate prejudice towards anything avant garde and away from anything approaching a ballad.
>>64172633
just some faggot that tries to viral his crappy music to justify his shitty degree. Move along.
DACHAU BLUEEES THOSE POOOOOR JEWWWWS...
It's like a Low B, that's as far as my range can get comfortably, maybe a low A in the morning
>>64174170
He's a nice guy he just likes little girls.
>>64173807
DO SOME DRUGS! That'll make him sound better! If you aren't melting face RIGHT NOW you are a p l e b and should give up on appreciating Tim as the National Treasure he is.

>>64174265
lmao kill yourself
>>64174285
guessing you're a underage faggot that doesn't know what a Vocal Range is
>>64174263
yuh, Macca is underrated as fuck as a vocalist.
>>64174263
>>64174321
It's too bad that he ruined his voice from years of screaming, so he has no range anymore.
>>64174411
idk man, obviously people will lose their range over time, but I saw him live just a few years ago and for being in his 70's he sounded pretty impressive. Still sings Helter Skelter in its original key. Plenty of vocalists in their prime wouldn't be able to do that.
>>64174263
>>64174321
I honestly think "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNDSSSSS ACROSS THE WATER" my favorite thing ever sung.
>>64173196
>jeff had no melody or soul
goddamn, have you listened to Forget Her?
>>64173196
I can play this game too. You love Tim Buckley? Oh, you have shit taste.
>>64172521
>tfw you'll never listen to My Sweetheart the Drunk
>>64174756
Corpus Christi Carol
>>64174263
wow that last song was insane i had no clue he could sing that low
>>64174776
Everybody Here Wants You is amazing,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wcn5mkaYNrw
you guys are going to laugh at me but he genuinely has a really great voice
>>64174923
How's ISIS, Zayn?
>>64174263
I haven't really listened to The Beatles other than the hits, but I was surprised by how many of those were actually screamed and surprisingly harsh sounding. Does he sing like that often?
>>64172563
Tim Buckley is great mate. Listened to Happy/Sad a lot today. Great, chill jazz-folk.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zh348ymnYis
>>64174923
3.1 octaves is better than most but it's not God-Tier by any means.
>>64175106
that's not all he can do, just what he sings on his solo album
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUMSy_ymQaY
but i agree he definitely needs work. just think he has a lot of talent
