Fun House is really the worst classic Stooges album
The Stooges is really just bizarro The Doors that has a really strong feel of being very close to being 60's mainstream music with just a hint of originality, but it's really good for what it is
Funhouse on the other hand is just a worse version of Raw Power (that is atotal masterpiece), I'm sure Funhouse was great and all when it came out, but in retrospect it's just not that enduring. As a fan of free jazz, I do appreciate L.A. Blues highly for being out there as a track tying the traditions of free jazz and proto-punk together, though.
On a related note here is Neneh Cherry (yes, the lady who did 17 Seconds and Buffalo Stance, but also the lady who was step-daughter of free jazz legend Don Cherry...) with Scandinavian free jazz powerhouse trio The Thing covering Dirt from Funhouse - really great version, I think:

also raw power is by far the worst stooges record. just david bowie being a faggot and ruining what was once great.

first three tracks on st are great, rest is mediocre.
fun house > s/t >>>>>>> raw power
>>64162143
the first three tracks include we will fall which is that 10 minute long snorefest. no fun is a great song.

That cover is truly what an autist would think is good. Take your fedora out of this thread.
Raw Power > Fun House > The Stooges
I Wanna Be Your Dog > 1969 > No Fun > Not Right > Real Cool Time > Little Doll > Ann > We Will Fall
Iggy mix of Raw Power > Bowie mix of Raw Power
Fight me.

that cover

>implying BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW STEEEEEEEEEVE isn't a 10/10 moment

>Fun House > Raw Power > The Stooges
now its ok

Funhouse = Raw Power > The Stooges
No Fun and the John Cale mix of I Wanna Be Your Dog are two of the greatest rock songs ever, though

>Funhouse on the other hand is just a worse version of Raw Power
I have no idea how anyone could think this. Fun House is far more improvisational and jazzy than Raw Power.

>Funhouse = Raw Power > The Stooges
This.

Eh, in my opinion there is plenty of more interesting improvisational and jazzy music out there than Funhouse, but Raw Power has that distilled, dirty and dangerous edge that makes it a real classic and an icon for things to come - it's truly iconic where I don't think Funhouse really is. Raw Power gets to the point and is an absolute classic because it does.

Wasn't David Bowie's only job to adjust the levels on the tracks? I'm pretty sure I read that The Stooges recorded it themselves, and did such a rubbish job at it they got Bowie in to remix it (which was hard as they recorded onto 3 tracks, one for the music, one for Iggy's voice and one for lead guitar)
