Given the breadth of the genre, I'm surprised metalhead is always just considered a "phase"- were you falling in with a trend or listening purely as a result of angst?
I'm like at least 6 years into my metalhead "phase" and there's no end in sight. Too many subgenres to explore and grow appreciation for.

I'd say I went through a bit of a "metalhead phase" when I was in high school. I still listened to other styles of music, and even though I don't feel like a "metalhead" anymore, I still like heavy music, and still listen to it along with all the other styles of music that I've gotten into. Lot's of people who outgrow their "metalhead" phase seem to develop a condescending attitude towards heavy music when their tastes start to branch out. That never happened with me.

All Overkill albums are pretty good but Ironbound is my favorite.
Bit odd band, quite well known but barely any charts, people etc. mention it. It´s like known and unknown at the same time.
