>VINTAGE
If you're short on money, vintage is the way to go. Ebay, craigslist and shopgoodwill are all good websites to find a cheap turntable. I bought my technics turntable for just $25 on shopgoodwill and it works great! If you don't know brands, a good place to start would be either technics or pioneer, generally any turntable with a counterweight and removable head should get the job done just fine. Just make sure you put a quality cartridge and needle on the turntable and you should't damage any of your records. This is pretty basic and I would HIGHLY recommend you do your research before investing in a vintage turntable as you may spend more money then you're expecting. desu, check r/vinyl, they have tons of charts and threads relating to the subject and are extremely helpful.
>NEW
This is the way more expensive, but will get the job done quicker without the hassle of research, finding the best deal and making sure all of the components work. First DO NOT get a crosley, they sound like shit and will ruin your records. You're probably not going to want to get any new turntable for under $100, audio technica at-lp 120 is good but will run you around $250, I don't know much about the at-lp 60 other then some sub par reviews.
>TIPS FOR COLLECTING
Clean your records, get slipmats for your records, have goodstorage, and go on discogs.
>TL;DR
go to r/vinyl and search first turntable

Do you think I give an ever living fuck if this is a blue board?
If there was a spoiler function I would have used it.
