there's some pretty great modern jazz, i think it would be worth it to read a bit. rudresh mahathappa is a great one that you should try.

I'm 23 and from MN, I know Husker Du. Love your list, especially American Football and the Sonic Youth albums you chose. Also the Pixies. I stongly recommend Tenement, a band from Appleton, WI that have a big, badass project that is amazing.
