Hey /mu/
Kid A is my favorite album and I love the atmosphere it creates. Are there any albums that sound like this but a little more stripped down, I guess you could say less challenging? An album that creates the same mood but is better to listen to passively?
I guess another way of putting it is that I'm looking for an album with the feel of "treefingers". Is ambient the genre I'm looking for? If so, are there any ambient albums with a Kid A feel to them?

Well Kid A was heavily inspired by Aphex Twin so go listen to Selected Ambient Works 85-92. Not sure if it's better passive material but definitely shares some mood/sound.

Arovane should do the trick!

Bright Eyes - Digital ash in Digital um
SUUNS - Zeroes QC
Postal Service - Give up
Nicholas Jaar - Space is only noise
There's nothing really like Kid A but this albums explore the same vein
I recommend you try Amon Tobin's best albums. They create a spooky jazzy atmosphere, and really easy to listen passively. The music itself is quite layered, similar to Radiohead.
Hope you enjoy

I've honestly never heard another ambient track quite like Treefingers, but here's some of my favorites:
Carbon Based Lifeforms - Interloper
Tycho - Dive
Jon Hopkins - Immunity
Sleep Research Facility - Deep Frieze

Yes. For an entry point similar in tone to Kid A, start with:
Aphex Twin - SAW 85-92
Brian Eno - Ambient 1/Music for Airports
