I never listened to Jazzfinger. Should I start with op pic ?
>>
>>64095588
Jazzfinger are one of those bands that just record their jams and release them without much interest in making "big statement" albums, any album is as good of an introduction as you can get.
I think the first one I heard was Winter's Shadow Between Two Worlds. Or maybe the split 12" with Birds Of Delay.
Gates Of Failure is quite good though.

Yo, any of the new Hospital tapes up on What yet?
Or for that matter, any of the tapes from the batch preceding this one(Joachim Nordwall, Flutter, Dust Belt etc.)?
Have you downloaded the Skin Crime box rip? Any chance of sharing the V0?
>>
>>64097585
>Yo, any of the new Hospital tapes up on What yet?
judging from this page http://hospitalproductions.net/releases/
no, I have yet to see any both manually searching and checking my notifs
>Or for that matter, any of the tapes from the batch preceding this one(Joachim Nordwall, Flutter, Dust Belt etc.)?
same answer, unfortunately
>Have you downloaded the Skin Crime box rip? Any chance of sharing the V0?
I'm currently downloading the FLAC rip, I can up a V0 later but it will definitely take some time.
>>
>>64097585
>Any chance of sharing the V0?

this por favor. i'm hyped.
>>
>>64097645
>I can up a V0 later but it will definitely take some time.
Thank you based Xern0n.
>>
>>64097585
Seen nothing in searching. Dual Action's and RSE's are catalogued on discogs now though.
>>
>>64097645
>judging from this page http://hospitalproductions.net/releases/

I was talking about the ones that came with the SC box(RSE, Alberich/Lussuria and the JK Flesh double-cassette set).
Didn't really expect them to get ripped yet anyway, was just curious. If they pop up anywhere first they're likely gonna pop up on blogs or SLSK.

>I can up a V0 later but it will definitely take some time.

That'd be great. Waiting patiently.

some new stuff, spare 5m59s of your life and take a listen.
>>
>>64097714
Yeah after I sent that message, I saw on the front page the ones you were talking about, my apologies. Still the same answer though.
>>
>>64097719
Just skimming through for now because of time. It's very minimal, but still accomplishes something. Reminds me a bit of Muslimgauze's sample work on Azzazin. I would like to see you work on new and different production techniques to spice it up. Add some more effects, sequence different things, overall make it seem a bit more "composed".
>>
>>64097766
got it m8, right now i'm in the process of hooking up an array of noisy old instruments and some DIY stuff of mine into this sort of ultimate noise workstation, this track was pretty much a testbed for the noise generating part of the machinery.
>>
>>64097766
>>64097809

Perhaps "variable" is a better term than "composed" in hindsight for this track specifically
>>
>when you finally get the motivation to work on a release again and just make more fucking tracks instead of polishing the ones you'd painstakingly titled and organized for a final release
>>
>>64097825
i suppose you're right, but it's really just a demo of my new setup, once i get everything together it'll probably sound tighter.

Nice cops, the EJ album is worth it for the artwork alone.
Never heard that Jazzkammer/Astro/HS collab before, gotta get on it.

Whaat? Mortiis rules.

Any news on G.O.'s Archive VI?

Or maybe the tape that came with the vinyl of Obituary?
>>
I don't really like to shill my music on /noise/ often but I'm pretty sure the track I made is "too crazy" for people in the normal soundcloud threads. Sorry

Here i guess: https://soundcloud.com/windowlistener/angry-synergy

That'd be a fine place to start. I really enjoy a lot of what jazfinger has put out.

Noise equals documentation. Different processes engaged in by different artists with different mentalities, aims and methods result in different documents. Variety is the spice of life.

v0 is fair though? v2 would mean lower bitrate

noice, thanks.

Is there such a thing as animist noise music by the way? Have been listening to a lot of Jeph Jerman and such, but want something more muscular and impressive.

Neo-shamanist stuff is cool too.

You've come a long way as a noise "musician," I'm actually really digging this! Very chaotic, always something new to listen for. I believe a track like this rewards multiple listens

smaller size, lower vbr and I may be linched for this but come on it's noise we're talking about
>>
>>64105280
The difference between v0 and v2 in filesize is such minute I'm even surprised how this is brought up. Do you have a bad internet connection? If so why do you want lower quality standards just because of your situation.
>>
>>64105280
>but come on it's noise we're talking about

Noise is where quality sound matters more than in most genres due to how dynamic it is and how much shit it throws at you. Unless you're listening to Vomir or some shit.
Just compare any of the dusty, muddy old home-dubbed Hanson and Hospital tapes(or rips of those tapes, which tend to muddy the sound even further) to their later-day digital reissues. The difference is night and day in some cases.
>>
Are there any expertfags who can recommend some nice tape manipulation techniques?
>>
>>64106458
Tape looping. If possible, disable the erase head or bypass it when mounting the tape loop. This will allow you record blank tape without a gap and overdub shit ad nauseam.

I've been using tape manipulations extensively the last year. I might go to bed soon, so if you need more info let me know I'll tell you where to contact me.

I would like some info. You are a nice person anon.

Alright. My best advice would be first to get a 4 track recorder, like a Tascam Portastudio, Yamaha MT120, Fostex X-something. These are not too rare and not too expensive, the tricky is to find one that still works well (these are all 20+ years old).

With that kind of machine you will be able to do plenty of shit. Recording and using like a regular studio. Playing back samples on tapes -either regular tapes or tape loops- with the ability to play with volumes on the 4 channels to get a ever evolving sound. You can play with the pitch and EQ too for more flexibility.

Cont.
>>
>>64106904
As I've mentioned earlier, one of the most interesting use of a 4-track with tape manipulation is to use it as a kind of very archaic looper. But for that we need to bypass/defeat the erase head.

There is a article that explains it well but 4chan won't let me post, look up "synthhacker defeating the erase head" on google.
(This article explains a lot about live tape looping too).

With that done, you will be able to use your tape recorder + tape loop as a 4-track looper, feeding it all kind of shit. BUT you will also be able to feed it with a feedback signal from previously recorded sound (or just no input feeback sounds), using the AUX output(s) most of these players have. The combined lofi-ness of recording on tape loops + feedback signal give really interesting noises and sounds.

I don't know if this is too clear, it's late here. Anyway, if you/anyone want to discuss this more, hit me up on soundcloud, I'm Zalhietzli.
>>
>>64105410
From my estimations there should be like 700MB difference in this case. I have great internet connection, I just think it would be more efficient for others and for the uploader.
>>64105427
I don't have time right now to test your hypothesis so I'll take your word for it. I think it's more about the quality of the rip and less about bitrate though.
