It is great, yeah. Shame he didn't have a bigger recording budget, but the roughness adds a bit to it's charm. Not my favorite of his albums, but it has some incredible songs.

Elliott Smith's best work. The grit of the 4 track really adds character to the songs. Then again I'm a sucker for this kind of sound. John Frusciante's Niandra Lades gives me a similar vibe.
