Were you the one listening to Arvo Pärt before? If not, you should listen to Angèle Dubeau & La Pietà performing his "Portrait".

>Were you the one listening to Arvo Pärt before?
No I don't think that was me
Anyways, I'm not very articulate when it comes to this but basically tone poems are like works of classical music that intend to depict a narrative or some sort of illustration of scenery. so like in my collage, Alpine Symphony is telling a story of some guy climbing a mountain and the low brass is used to depict thunderstorms a lot and there's huge triumphant brass parts when the climber supposedly overcomes a difficult part of his climb. Deifnitely my favorite piece of music, I've talked about it a few times in collage threads.

John Fahey more like Joe Heaney. "The Road from Connemara" is a good one. Irish folk music and interlaced jib.

The London Symphony Orchestra recording that's in my collage is my favorite, although it's not on YouTube or anything. I think somebody found it somewhere in a /classical/ thread one time
Christian Thielman and the NY Philharmonic is also great, I listen to both pretty frequently. They're on Spotify so if you have premium there you go
