"taste" wouldn't exist if people didn't share what they like with each other. taste isn't just something that comes out of nowhere, it is something that comes from many influences, whether it's what your parents made you listen to as a kid, what you heard on the radio most of your life, any music website you pay attention to (doesn't have to be a criticism one either, could just be a news one).
