>when bands get praised as 'consistent' because they made a career out of albm after album of samey, dull, easily digestible alt-rock

I'm not saying these bands never did anything worthwhile, but they all peaked early on and then rode the wave of indeh cred to the bank

I never got all the hype for Fugazi. Their lyrics are edgy as hell and they sound like a worse dismemberment plan

Why is the thumbnail for that cover so blurry
>>63937743
it's called a compression artifact
>>63937668
if you think in on the kill taker and the argument sound like the same album, i recommend getting your ears checked

I will pray tonight that this was bait

Not the guy you replied to, but how do those work, anyway? I always see people complaining about them, And I know what they are, but how do they come about? How do you prevent them?

Save your images as PNG files.
All of them.

That cover looks like that Oceansize album

Seeing the difference now isn't the reason to save as PNG. PNG uses lossless compression, while JPG is 'lossy'. What this means is that for each year the JPG sits on your hard drive, it will lose roughly 12 pixels, assuming you have SATA - it's about 15 pixels on IDE, but only 7 pixels on SCSI, due to rotational velocidensity. You don't want to know how much worse it is on CD-ROM or other optical media.
I started collecting JPGs in about 2001, and if I try to view any of the images I downloaded back then, even the stuff I grabbed at 320 megapixels, they just look like crap. The background is terrible, the foreground…well don’t get me started. Some of those images have degraded down to 32 or even 16 pixels. PNG images from the same period still look great, even if they weren’t stored correctly, in a cool, dry place. Seriously, stick to PNG, you may not be able to see the difference now, but in a year or two, you’ll be glad you did.

All of those bands made amazing songs on every album
Pollard puts out amazing songs every year, he didn't "peak" early.

>rotational velocidensity
wew boi, its been a minute since I last heard that

nice
>sonic youth
>samey
All their 80s albums sounds different, like, compare CIS with Sister, or EVOL with DDN.
Fugazi is just a Rat at Rat R ripoff tho
>sonic youth
>samey alt rock
