But it's impossible to have unique taste. I, for example try my best to not get influenced but at the end i'm only listening to artists other people enjoy or people on /mu/ rec'd me. Unless you listen to your own music which you never release your taste is not unique. So just listen to artists that you enjoy, don't try so hard to be unique since you are never going to achieve that.

If taste progressions from former chart regulars are to be used as an example, it takes about 2-3 years to develop recognizable taste. That's only if you weren't much of a fan of most mucore in the first place.
