Literally yes.
Its got a lot of good songs but the theme to me isn't carried as well throughout. I love the production of tomorrow's harvest and all the little details in The Campfire Headphase.
A lot of the songs were already released and don't feel "dark nostalgic" like I like to think the theme is.
its not an indictment of MHTRTC, but I really think TH and TCH are underrated. Its still a 8/10.

i dunno, the drums, keys, and melodies all seem more throughly executed on mhtrtc - was not a fan of the half-assed arpeggios on th. it's gritty, grimey, yet still has that effervescence they're known for, while tch just seems pretty shallow 9though i still like it).
i also like that mhtrtc has bit of a sense of humor to it, geogaddi too. even if it's supposed to be nihilistic, th still reads as too dour at points.

My reasoning is pretty shallow too honestly.
I like how dour it is. Their music has hinted at apocalypse due to a environmental collapse throughout their discography. This is the logical conclusion. TCH had a continuous theme of having good times out in the wild...but a vein of this time could be running out.
The arpeggi didn't seem lazy at all to me. They were often changed up after a few bars and parts were references to 80s sci fi movies...so it had to play them straight.
