Idk if it's because everything that could be said about this album has already been said or because /mu/ is filled entirely with contrarians/masochists who only listen to music you have to force yourself to enjoy, but what do you think of The Wall? Is it Roger Waters ruining the bands sound with his overbearing control or is it Roger Waters overbearing control...producing a classic album, although less experimental and straightforward than previous PF albums?

The older I get, the more I realize how overrated The Wall is and how underrated Piper, Saucerful, Ummagumma and Meddle are.
I don't really like PF, but that album was quite shit. It's reptetive, "classic rock sounding bs. Can't think of a cheesier album 2bh.

I agree to the point where I don't hold it in the same regard as Piper,WYWH or DSOTM and I also agree ummagumma and saucer dont get the credit they deserve....but there are parts of the wall I really enjoy. ABITW is catchy as fuck.
The Wall is almost like a parody of everything that's bad about prog, except it's actually not trying to be a parody.

One of the best albums ever created. Dunno why people complain about the length - the album's an adventure, and none of the songs (bar Vera Lynn) detract from it.
