Whole thread filled with DADcore dance music.

But its /mu/ and nobody can produce for shit anyways let alone knows any kind of electronic music released after 2000.

Just on top of my head, this track is objectively better than everything posted in this thread... combined

That's because after the 2000s is when the decline started faggot.
Also you instantly post drop normalfag shit where you spend half the song waiting for the part where you can actually fucking dance.

>That's because after the 2000s is when the decline started
Not him, but I've been thinking about this lately. There's some great dance music out after 2000, but I think the spirit of 90s dance music may have moved to other genres. Maybe after computers improved, making simple dance music just seemed redundant because it was too easy and the technology made it too flat sounding. I may be talking out my ass though but the soulful grittiness of alot of that old stuff is on another planet than this uninspired edm shit. Even repetitive comercial stuff with a clear formula like happy hardcore had a certain spirit about it that it was kids having fun making really redundant, dumb music. Modern edm "bangers" sound so clinical.
>>
>>63850622
i can assure you, most dads feel exactly the same about rock styles that were only popular after the 90s
>>
>>63849556
not even the best Experience era Prodigy track

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY87o9IZXWg
>>
part of the problem is the lack of new styles though

since dubstep got run into the ground there haven't been any new genres, you can't really count bass music as a genre, it was just rebranded dubstep after dubstep became a toxic word

now what have we got? house? indistrial techno?

not that there's anything bad about those genres but some on kids, you're supposed to come up with something new, i've been waiting ten fucking years, whole scene is dry and dead
>>
>>63850622
That is true. I should have clarified. The real decline started around 2009. The 2000s had some great shit but trance started to go to shit at around 2004 and DnB was already fucked

Also part of the reason that modern EDM sounds so fucking boring and clinical is because it has to be interesting to normalfags. The same normalfags who hated dance music a few years ago for being the same beat over and over again. So now every song sounds like a horrendous internet mashup of 3 songs plus a break ever fucking bar because why would you want to dance to dance music

There are more popular styles than ever before. Pop music has never been as diverse as it is right now. Just because its all "house" doesnt mean there isnt a huge amount of diversity. Thats like calling everything with guitars out for still using guitars, after all this time.

How can you honestly think this?

you really think making good music is easy? have you got any experience at all with production?
>>
>>63851113
because back then you had deep house, acid house, ny house, garage, soulful house, and about 50 other styles no one even bothered to name

And you think those plus many, many more styles don't exist now? Come off it mate. Get a clue.

>>63850975
Except this is all not diverse and is all trash. It's the exact same shit.

>Intro beat for DJs
>Bit unrelated to the rest of the song
>build up that's always exactly the same
>drop that's unrelated to the rest of the song
>beat stops so normalfags don't get bored
>beat comes back
>beat stops so normalfags don't get bored
>beat comes back with actual percussion
>beat stops so normalfags don't get bored
>beat comes back
reverb kick.
1st half repeats. Perhaps 2nd drop is at half speed so normalfags don't get bored

It's all designed to get peoples attention who don't even like the music and just see it while scroling through soundcloud. Anything before 2009 is too repetetive for them, even the hits. They need flashy dumb shit every 2 seconds because that techno electro music is dumb and repetetive. Buntz n KATZ AM I RIGHT!?
It's blatently clear that you're one of these people as you post DJ mustard and Lil John top 40 brickwalled trap shit.
>>
>>63851147
most house these days is 'deep' house and it's all really samey, not even proper deep house either

They don't.
Deep house is pop drop shit
Acid only ocassionally appears before some bigroom drop
NY house barely exists

>>
>>63851171

Now you're just showing your sheer ignorance. Dance music exists outside of the mainstream and house music is thriving

>most house these days is 'deep' house and it's all really samey, not even proper deep house either

wow, what a cutting edge opinion for 2012

pathetic description of a bunch of tracks, yes these may be the similarities but there are many more divergences. And i could do that to every fucking song out there. Herp derp same techno beat over and over add percussion so hipsters dont get bored, add more percussion, add more. Remove percussion and do filter sweep and play only the melody, wank on every know on ur 303. etc.

Also if the track was initially composed with brick walling in mind dynamic isnt lost and it can even be used as a creative effect. Look up dave pensado or other acclaimed mixers and perhaps get a clue.
>>
>>63851258

Who the fuck cares about how commercial UNDERGROUND dance music is? Why are we even talking about shitty EDM and pop on /mu/? House music is thriving creatively, there's a lot of forward thinking house music as well as lots of respect for old school and revival type house.

Hmm, let's see what we've had in 2015:

We've got:

>Deep House
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkfvlQ75WUg

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBFFAyB0MiI

>Minimal house
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lI6z2m8828
>Juke/Ghetto House

I don't even know why I replied, you're just going to disregard this and continue spewing ignorance like all dance music is commerical EDM shite.

every one of them tracks is retro and boring, idk how you can see any of this as new

>>63851583
Also betting that they're all vinyl only for "fuck you" reasons
>>
>>63851583

>it's boring
>babby's first

How about you offer some actual criticism instead of coming across as an ignorant idiot.
You claimed that dance music was less diverse than it used to be, which is absolutely false. How can a genre become less diverse after 30+ years of progress?

And so what if it's "retro"? What's wrong with people paying homage to the music that inspires them? That's how music generally works, people being inspired by old genres and leaving their take on them. These tunes would all sound out of place compared to late 80s house like you said.

And these examples were JUST house music. I didn't even mention any other genre, especially UK genres which are always full of diversity, new ideas and experimentation. Hell, I didn't even mention garage.
>>
>>63851668
>How can a genre become less diverse after 30+ years of progress?
you tell me

>And so what if it's "retro"?
i want new stuff, i'm bored with the same 3 chords being used in every single track, along with the same rhythm pattern, the same production techniques etc

you didn't even manage to find a decent tech house track and your outsider house example was fucking deep house m9

i'm going now, we're just gonna have to agree to disagree, i assume you are really young so i'll let you off :D

haha! hardstyle is the only innovative electronic music to come out of the UK and it wasn't even exclusive to them either. see dutch house and the Melbourne EDM scene

I don't get what you're trying to say though? You want new stuff?

Listen to dubstep or footwork, or UK bass, or grime or bassline, or space disco or jump up drum and bass or any of the dozens of dance music genres that exist now that didn't exist then.

>Along with the same rhythm pattern, the same production techniques
Obviously there's not much you can do with house music itself, it's grounded in its production style. It's not like you can make house that isn't 4x4, it's not house then.

>you didn't even manage to find a decent tech hosue track
Because tech house is vague as fuck and most of it is terrible

Nice job acting smug as hell there at the end like you've "schooled" me in some way to avoid an actual point.

Or is your point literally "wah someone hasn't invented a new genre in the last 2 years that I can hop onto and seem cool like vaporwave"?
