Never has a more famous band had less recognizable albums though. Everyone goes on about "Sgt Pepper" and " the white album" and "Dark Side of the Moon" but most can't name any Rolling Stones albums.

But that is not really true. Remember that most people these days aren't into albums anyway and they wouldn't be able to name you a single album by either Beatles or Stones (or Pink Floyd etc.). But those that DO know a thing about "Sgt Pepper" will most likely know about "Exile on Main St" too. Not to mention that their albums are often listed in those 'Best albums of all time' lists.

Mehhh, I think Beggars, Let It Bleed, Sticky, Exile, Some Girls are all great albums. Not a whole lot of bands have 5 great LPs under their belt.

They're very good, Sticky Fingers is probably my pick of the bunch, bot not iconic in the way a Dark Side, Pepper, WYWH, or White Album are.
Everyone often forgets that they were an amazing live band too. Just listen to the awesome Get Yer Ya-Yas Out, one of the best live albums of all time
