a reel to reel tape deck
>vinyl and fancy equipment
>imma place those speakers so they look nice
>>63805928
Maybe the speaker placement is to soothe the 8ft giant that stands behind him?
I fell for two huge memes, guys.
>>63805621
Reel to reel has higher fidelity sound than vinyl. But each album costs over £100.
>>63807025
thank god for CDs

Diskeeper 2.0, polylined, MoFi
Picked up some essentials in London recently.
Spent a considerable amount more on Spiderland. Really loving the 3 Feet High reissue though
>>63806980
Bullshit. How much did you pay for that?
I'm trying to get into vinyl and I cannot decide on what turntable to get. Should is get the audio technica lp120 or the pro ject debut carbon esprit sb. If I get the carbon my budget will be btfo but I'll just buy components as I go while the lp120 I can afford the table, pre amp, amp and speakers now.
>>63809295
Why do you want to get into vinyl?
So you can show off your generic albums?
>>63807371
wait is he getting accused of something?
>>63809295
Buy AT if you can afford the rest with it , you might have some money sooner for albums as well.
>>63809295
Pro-Ject is much better. You can try the more basic model of Debut or the Essential line.
Note that the non-USB models don't come with preamps (integrated ones are often mediocre anyway) so you need to buy an additional phono preamp.
>>63809507
>>63809532
I'm trying to go for a 100% analog set up, with tube amps and all that jass. Are the differences between those two turntables noticeable to the point it would warrant spending 3x more for the pro ject. If I'm going to spend a shit ton for a turn table I want to go balls to the wall and buy the best one I can afford, which is the pro ject. So which one will be worth the money and get the "full vinyl experience"
I just started collecting this year. Here is the first part of my collection.
>>63810141
Here is the last few as well as the Bardo Pond one that got covered in glare
>>63810100
Pro-Ject for sure.
You can get a better sound with the AT-LP120 too, but that requires physically removing the integrated preamp, and that's a bit of a hassle.
>>63810180
Thanks, I was also thinking about getting this amp. Does anyone know if it's worth a shit?

if you melted all these vinyls into a blob and then shaped that blob into a man it would come alive and immediately turn white
>>63810814
Not quite, it needs a Kendrick Lamar record
Picked up these memes a few days ago

pretty good man.
Jelly of that Enslaved - Vertebrae 2LP
also sell me that Rush - Fly By Night / In The Mood 7", im like the biggest Rush fan ever
Just getting into vinyls. Best players for <$50?
>>63811850
yeah dude, the Enslaved was about 20 and the live set is solid.
Don't think the Rush single is too hard to find, found it along with tons of prog/classic rock singles for a buck each.
>Recent Buys:
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Jamie xx - In Colour
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Flying Lotus - Los Angeles
Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
>>63811853
there are none

ayy bruh, ain't you from sputnikmusic? Swear I've seen you round.
>>63811853
>>63811882
Fine what should I look for in a decent player?
>>63811870
Theres only one pressing of that 7" on discogs for sale, and its like $84 Canadian. Early Rush 7"s are hard to find man. I only have a few of their 7"s which I found locally
>>63811918
go on craigslist/kijiji and just buy a vintage turntable for $100. Audio Technica and all that new shit is garbage
>>63811894
lmao yeah I'm on sputnik
>>63811923
I'm down in the midwest, and Rush shows up often. Just to point out, the single was from the live album at the time. If it's seriously rare, and you seriously want it, hit me up. It's weird because it's from a live album that sold tons, so I don't see much value in it.
>waiting for Love Streams silver pressing to arrive in the mail

latest pickups too

fucking SEX
>>63812597
the new Xiu Xiu and the Jazz Dispensary box looks dope, but everything seems to be ranging from nice to shit. Probably will be the first RSD where I'm more interested in the used stuff.
>>63810521
My life has become a meme send help send help se
>>63812597
Eh nothing I'm desperate to pick up really. Maybe Oscar Peterson, maybe Xiu Xiu, maybe Sun Ra, maybe the Japanese garage-psych sampler. I'm morbidly curiously about the John Frusciante EP but we're probably not getting it here and I've hated everything he's done since leaving RHCP. More interested in the sales on the existing stock really.
>>63812924
Is that TMR's mask?
>>63813076
I don't think so but I really can't say whether it's related or not
>>63812597
Jesus. Check out the Rob Zombie 10 in at the bottom. He's become a living meme
>>63812110
Just got mine in today, I'll post a photo here shortly
Three of my recent buys. FoH / Merzbow and Love Streams just came in the mail about two hours ago
Upgraded from an LP60 to U-Turn and absolutely loving it. Waiting for my bootleg Ex-Military and my cork slipmat. Does anyone own the bootleg of Ex-Military can comment on the sound quality?
>>63812344
Get the speakers off the same table as the turntable. Your just asking for distortion
>>63813994
god damn that is a beautiful turntable

>>63814665
Get a record clamp or weight. It will flatten it out a bit.
>>63814665
Depends on how light is the record, you can fix it. If it's 180 gram you're fucked
>>63814665
That's not bad at all, you can replace the record easily. Now that happening with a old rare private press that's nowhere online to download or stream, that's true suffering.
>>63806980
Damn son. Cherish that.
