speakers recommendation thread? what do you roll your anime music with, fampai?
>>
>>63755117
My Logitech Z-5500s are dope, highly recommend their successor the Z-906s if you want 5.1 surround. Sound quality is pretty incredible and they get loooud.
>>
>>63755361
are the cheaper 2.1 ones worth shit?
>>
>>63755515
Can't really say since I've never heard them. Logitech is decent, though, but I think you want to buy their "THX-Certified" models (which I assume you're talking about). I used to own a cheaper 5.1 set from them and the clarity + bass just wasn't there.

Someone should correct me if I'm being a sheep for branding.
>>
do any of you have an actual hi-fi?
>>
>>63755555
checked

CHECKED

These plus a subwoofer (don't need it for extended range, just for fun when playing bass-heavy songs)

I have mid-fi
>>
>>63755860
Where are the tweeters on those things?
>>
I thought speaker 101 was to avoid all-in-one-box setups, unless they're hi-fi monitors.
>>
>>63755908
Rule number one is "avoid logitech like the plague"

coaxial, inside the woofer which at the same time acts as a waveguide
>>
can you even get anything decent around 80$?
>>
>>63755936
That's pretty neat
>>
>>63755925
Logitech are exclusively box sets, yeah?
>>
>>63755947
No.
>>
>>63755947
I'd go for headphones instead then
>>
>>63755947
You can barely get a pair of decent headphones for that unfortunately. Possibly some in-ears.
>>
>>63755936
Are those 6" or bigger? They look nice.
>>
>>63755971
>>63755981
>>63755990
let me change the question then: what is the cheapest 2.0 or 2.1 set I can get that is decent?
>>
>>63755947
Micca MB42 is a pretty good speaker for <$80 but it's also a passive speaker which means you need a dedicated amp so that's going to cost more than $80 when it's all said and done.

Mine. Are these good i got them from my parents a while ago
>>
>>63756013
they're 6" but go quite low with the -3dB point at 40Hz, but they're crossovered to the sub at 65 Hz
>>
>>63755555
gotem
>>
What are some top notch monitors for $200-300 ?
>>
>>63756085
top notch isn't really a thing at that price point, but equator d5 are really good for the price and can be had almost that cheap sometimes
>>
>>63756026
At that budget getting a box set is probably your only option, since any decent speakers are way more expensive or require an amp, which will easily cost more than the 80 bucks alone.
>>
>>63756085
>$200-300
>top notch
sorry bruv, ain't gonna happen
>>
>>63756085
$200-300 won't really get you anything "top notch".

JBL LSR305 is excellent at that price range though.
>>
>>63756085
These bad boys are below $200 and really give you bang for your buck.
Got them a few days ago. Absolutely love them.
>>
>>63756113

Not exactly top notch I guess then but decent enough for producing

I'll check em out, I've also been thinking about these
>>
>>63756124
as nice as they perform (I have a pair of 308 at the living room) my friend who's working at the german harman group distributor 'audiopro' is having loads of trouble with returns and repairs with that series at the moment, it seems very much like jbl has a quality control problem since these speakers created a boom in the segment. so I wouldn't really recommend these right now
>>
>>63756085
best you can get are some electrostatics off ebay
>>
>>63756060
40 Hz for 6" is pretty damn good, I might look into them for next monitors purchase.
>>
>>63756085
I have a pair of Behringer B2030A. they are decent and you can't really beat the price.

Just be sure to understand that acoustics and monitors placement will play a huge roll, arguably greater than the difference between a $300 monitor and $1000 ones.
>>
>>63756134
Would I need much more than a computer to power these?
Like would i need an amp for the best quality or something.
>>
>>63756636
They're active, they go in a wall socket.
>>
>>63756636
They're plugged into power sockets.
An external soundcard is recommended.
I got the Scarlett Focusrite 2i2 with them.
>>
>>63756636
Just best bet is to get a small USB audio interface. You only need 1 input and 1 output (stereo). Look for M-Audio, Prosonus, or a better brand if you can afford it.

>>
>>63756540
yea man i know, placement is crucial for sound especially when it comes to production
