April Fool's Edition #2
Yesterday's thread died overnight

Welcome to the weekly /mu/ jazz Blindfold Test thread. Every Friday and Saturday.
If you're new, the point of these threads is to have fun and encourage critical listening, discussion, and general enjoyment of jazz. All critical music listeners are welcome. The more participation we have, the more fun and successful these threads will be. In the interest of keeping the thread alive and bumped, any general jazz discussion is welcomed here as well.
For more information about how the threads work and listening suggestions, please refer to the pastebin: http://pastebin.com/ZaFe6HUA
THIS WEEK'S THEME: Bossa Nova
COMPILED BY: Meditation
NEXT WEEK: Wildcard
COMPILED BY: Clueless
If you missed last week's thread, DON'T WORRY. It's not too late. Here are the links for the mystery tracklist. Download the tracks, record your thoughts/guesses/evaluations for each one, and then come back and post them in the thread. Remember, people will be posting guesses and thoughts in this thread so don't read the thread until you have listened to the music and collected your thoughts in order to avoid spoilers. Track info for this week's tracks will be posted on Saturday, so if you see the thread is close to dying before then, give it a bump.

Meditation was half way through posting the track list when the old thread died, and I'm eagerly awaiting the identity of track 4 especially.

Guess maybe I posted this too early this morning - hopefully people will be awake soon.

Also, did Clueless send on this week's tracks?

Yeah Blindfold Guy should have them. They usually get posted on Saturdays these days but if not I'll do an upload myself. Got a shitty connection speed though so that's not ideal.

Well I have to go pretty soon so just in case, here's next week's Blindfold Test link:

Wildcard - compiled by me
If anyone has trouble with mega it should hopefully be coming in a Zippyshare later today?
5. The original "O Pato" (The Duck! - those "quem quem"s are quacks) by Joao Gilberto. I've always loved this song's humorous catchiness, and it comes from my favorite album by him (the 1960 one). Muito bom, muito bem.
7. "Outra Vez" by a singer I'm not sure I've heard of, but I'd like to know who she is - very nice.
8. This feels more modern. Those sax moments in the background feel 90's-ish to me - like they're underwater with a triphop feel (those beats intensify that impression).
9. This all feels very well arranged. I'm eagerly awaiting any clue who the pianist is.
10. Joao Gilberto, his wife Astrud Gilberto singing the next part, and then Stan Getz will come in on sax. The classic version of the divine "Garota de Ipanema"
Ok I'm back now. Sorry for a confusing thread this week. Looking ahead, next week's might be a little crazy too because I won't be able to keep an eye on the thread all the time.
Here is the zippyshare for next week's if people prefer that to Mega.
