most of his albums are about equally good, so you might as well go in order. although ready for the house is maybe more amateurish and less realized than the other early ones even if they have the same sound on the surface. something like lost cause, on the way, follow your footsteps, or you walk alone would be more traditionally rock n roll sounding and maybe more "accessible," but maybe that's not the point. the ones on the chart are the ones I recommend in any case. even though I'm sick of Later On right now. really no "how" to getting into any artist other than history and affinity

yeah I have checked out a few of those albums - Ambient 1 and 4 and Discreet Music, Before and After Science.... I think Ambient 4 is the only one that has done much for me

they're all relatively short, album lengthed at longest. imo his super long works are fairly overrated and sound like him but don't have much unique taste beyond that... maybe based on and praised for concept rather than music, but it could just be me too.
