Assuming this isn't b8, Skrillex is basically one of the pioneers of brostep. Brostep is a subgenre of dubstep, so Skrillex is both dubstep and brostep. Brostep is basically dubstep made for mainstream appeal with use of lots of vocal effects and a focus on over-the-top distorted synths and bass lines. It's often looked down upon by the dedicated electronic community because it's usually very formulaic and generic-sounding. It makes good party music though.
