Thank goodness you posted, the thread died last time before I got to post my review of your music.
I love this stuff man. It makes me feel heavy for some reason, just want to sink into something. Makes me feel so melancholy. My favorite song might have to be Lazy Fireflies, the bass and drums work so incredibly well on that.
I wish I had something constructive criticism for you but there is nothing bad about this album. I wish on the track "Lazy Fireflies" you would sit on the tonic more when doing those chromatic lines up with the guitar. But maybe not, the song is pretty perfect as it is.
If you want any critiques or there are any songs you don't really like I will review them more specifically.
I just really love your work man, excited to hear what you're going to do next.

Thanks so much for your kind comments, I'm just glad someone bothered to listen to it and actually enjoyed it.
I listened to your track right the way through and thought you did a cracking job with the introduction and all of the small and tender and mysterious sounding musical sketches weaved into the soundscapes works wonderfully. A sort of interesting contrast between our uploads is how you're a real musician trying to move away from traditional musical forms while I'm a total non-musician trying to make more "traditional" music, if that makes sense.

I think it's a bit too stripped-back to be labelled dream pop or shoegaze, the track is more like straight indie pop to me desu. It works quite well as that though, I'd slap a bit more reverb onto the vocals and record more layers of guitar onto the whole thing for a thicker/more dense sound but yeah. Pretty neat, keep it up.
>>63739548
I'm only three tracks in, but this is really beautiful stuff. Like a more minimalistic Ravedeath-era Tim Hecker. I just got home from a night out so it fits my current mood pretty well, even.

Oh yeah, thank you so much. My goal was to have it move people haha. The mic is a Behringer B1. Personally I don't think it makes a giant difference what mic you use, the B1 is the same mic I've used for every one of my recordings and they all sound different.
The secret is that I straight up triple tracked the vocals, then added another falsetto track, then some other harmony tracks for the parts closer to the end. So in those last parts it's like five different vocal tracks, which before recording this would have seemed like complete overkill to me.

actually gave this a listen because it was short. the beat sounds pretty weak honestly. it's not really light enough to go for the minimal bubblegum bass sound, but it's too light to aim for the heavier edm genres. the vocal effect with the echo is kind of distracting, and so is that cutoff at the end. not really feeling it.
