So I recently started gearing my live set-up towards live performance as well as live DJing (pic related) and I'm looking for a decent pad drum machine. I'm looking at some of Akais stuff but I don't want to compromise on quality. Anyone here have experience with MPD controllers?

Also could do with critique on something I'm trying out:

I'm a huge deadmau5 fan, so I love this.
Nice set up btw, but you could really use some cable management.

So I "finished" a song a while back but am still quite inexperienced at mastering/mixing. Would appreciate if somebody would give some tips/pointers. Especially drums i'm just winging it at the moment using fruity EQ and some stereo seperation program

Probably an April fools thing

Everybody who is still looking for a production handle should use the name they get in this thread

>everything jammed into patterns
>not using FL 12
I like it though. It's really good.
You should definitely work on it a bit more and release it.

I think you should remake it with more modern sounds though, but it sounds good as it is.

I want to make serene synth soundscapes like 0PN but I don't want to spend more than 500 dollars. What synth should I buy? I'm looking at the minilogue and the minibrute.
>>
>>63729247
Minilogue is more capable than the minibrute, but I think he uses omnisphere mostly

see

>>63729760

for lush atmospheres you need voices. At least 4 voices if you know what you're doing. So unless you're prepared to spend at least $2,000 on gear, go softsynth
>>
>>63729800
ever heard of multitracking connie?
>>
>>63729800
PS I forgot the minilogue is 4 voice, so I'd go with it. Having said that, you'd have to be a wizard of sound design and mixing to get nice lush atmospheres out of it.

FL 12 fap beats.

How do you mix vocals!? Might raps aren't mixing with beat!!! I'm rappin in a closet
>>
>>63729873
or just keep the mixer levels low
>>
>>63729921
Read the fucking OP.
>>
>>63729800
>>63729760
what if I use a minilogue and run it through fl with a bunch of atmospheric effects. Would that work well?
>>
>>63728353
This is lit, your organization for the project is really weird but the tracks dope sounds like Eero Johannes.

Does anyone know where I can get ableton for free?

I wanna start recording but can't be fucked to pay, what if I give up half way through? That's a waste of money

Doesn't 0PN use a lot of digital synthesis rather than analog?

he uses the juno-60 heavily especially in his earlier stuff. I don't got the money for that though. If I did I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

>what if I give up half way through? That's a waste of money
Are you actually interested in music production?
>>
>>63730837
vintage gear is incredibly overpriced
its more of a hobbyist thing

for the price of a juno 60 you can buy a shit load of better, modern synths.

up for a few years ago, vintage analog synths used to go for dirt cheap. if you had told someone in 2003 that a juno 06 would go for thousands these days they would've laughed at you
>>
>>63730844
Yeah but what if I end up not liking ableton?
>>
still pretty novice at producing, but right now my goal is to produce something like this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t4Nznd77zI

when I actively listen to it I realize there really isn't a lot going on, it's pretty simple. But my stuff always feels lifeless in comparison...
>>
>>63731057
torrent it and find out, or try the demo if you're against that
>>
>>63731450
Trying to torrent it but these shitty sites ain't working
>>
I have a question about Fl studio. Let's say I have five plugins. How do I make it so that my midi keyboard controls them all individually? For example, when I press C synth 1 plays, D triggers 2, etc.
>>
>>63730974
>for the price of a juno 60 you can buy a shit load of better, modern synths.
are there any current ones that have similar presets to the juno-60+more?

also, out of curiosity, what is the analog equivalent to omnisphere?
>>
>>63731614
if you want the sound of a juno 60, get the JU 06

other synths will have juno 60's patches that sound close to the real stuff
>>
>>63728696
Thanks for the feedback! I heard before that people find it a bit weird that I cram everything into patterns, but the piano roll has this function were I can see the shadows of other channels in the pattern, which I find pretty convenient when comping up with/combining melodies/chords.

I try to create most of the synth sounds myself, but often see myself creating similar sounding synths, so i def need some improvement on that part

I also upgraded to FL on my new comp and its great indeed. I'll try to work on it more and probably release it sometime
>>
Are there any other absolute retard beginners who never finish projects that would like to personally be able to show each other stuff that they're working on? I like house and techno.
