Your album of the decade so far?

Can't pick just one.

>>63703459
you're right, but at the same time i really just feel like this album is a good example of if you can really just let yourself enjoy something
it doesn't have to be a top rated album in your personal library for you to simply enjoy listening to music for the sake of listening to music
you'd have to not be able to interpret rhythm or braindead in order to not enjoy this album at least to a subliminal degree, its pure pop
>>63703074

>>63703968
shitty generically made pop by Grimes
>>63703702
What I really love about this album is the fusion of quite different genres who is delivered in such a dense, catchy and haunting way, but it doesn't sound experimental at all. Like, all the song have a pretty simple structure (verse-chorus-verse-bridge(-chorus)), but you get industrial drums, dub-like bassline and noisey southern guitar riffs coming together at the same time to create such groovy melodies. What really blows my mind is the use of negro spiritual samples. That's what really give the album a perfectly dark atmosphere. It's almost like the band was trying to imitate the spirituals using modern sounds and instruments.
>>63703989
Be good to Daddy
>>63703944
you're right, she's poop lol
>>63704036
My dad doesn't have taste as awful as yours (which is saying something because he listens excusively to entry level jazz). So no, I'll be as rude to you as I wish
there's nothing wrong with not having listened to enough music to be able to have a worthwhile opinion of what the best album of the decade is but posting grimes is like starting a debate by telling your opponent and the audience that you are completely ignorant on the topic and should not be taken seriously
>>63703896
i understand that this just feels good to listen to when depressed as fuck but i could never call this even close to album of the decade, its just uncreative boring whining no matter how emotionally relatable

Did you forget a word? Can't tell which one you're saying is better. I love both albums, just think the tracks on Dour Candy were more consistently good. Love the Blockhead beats too.
>>63704534
this or Giles Corey or cc2
>>63704370
Please tell me why you don't like it. Or at least why it wouldn't be a legitimate contender for AOTDSF.
I couldn't explain my appreciation for this album any better than the old Lou did. I urge you to read it, and maybe even listen to the album once more.

>>63704796
overall its poorly executed and has no substance and alot of filler. And alot of kanyes lines are really cringey
Blood on the Leaves, Black Skinhead and the end of New Slaves are great but besides that its pretty forgettable to me
>>63704842
okay. I'm glad you had some actual arguments. Out of sheer and non-cynical curiosity: what's your AOTDSF?

>a lot of kanyes lines are really cringey
Honestly, this. There are some interesting (though by no means unique or original) production choices on the album, but his lyrics have been trended more toward lazy and obvious as his career progresses. There's no subtlety or originality in what he's saying. I really do feel like he believes his own schtick about himself and it's made him lazy. He's got the talent to do better, but he's just too scattered and unfocused at this point.

comeback of the decade so far
Not a single track thats less than an 8.5 on the entire album. Granted, you may have to be in the right frame of mind to fully enjoy it, but its still a masterpiece.
>>63706975
literally how?
I've loved Sufjan's work for over 10 years, and that record was just awful.
Age of Adz might be a contender, but C & L was utterly forgettable.
>>63702644
Definitely that if not Bon Iver - Bon Iver
The ark work is also a contender.
>>63706975
That album is literally listening to Sufjan masturbating for 45 minutes. It's middle school tier cringe worthy lyrics and not a single interesting musical anything.
