Why is she so boring? She tries to hard to be the quirky pop artist, and the formula is so fucking overused.
>>
>she tries to be quirky

That's not st Vincent
>>
normies are so underexposed when it comes to music that anything that breaks the norm is instantly considered goat

>>63635549
what's your problem with st vincent? dont you like good pop?
>>
>>63635563
only plens like pop in any form

haha yeah bro definitely im really into music too x)
>>
>>63635575
That's a very pleb thing to say.
>>
>>63635609
prove me wrong
>>
>>63635633
what's your favorite album?
>>
I think her problem is that she's trying to emulate early to late 20th century singers while also being modern with a touch of 'strong feminist woman' and it's just a recipee for disaster with no large potential. She had a few good tracks that were just love songs, and the rest of her albums literally seem like "those songs you heard on the radio with free filler tracks included".
>>
>>63635633
Okay, tell me what you don't like about pop?
>>
>>63635719
I've always liked her voice and look, that's what attracted me to her. But then I listened to a whole album and fell asleep half-way through.
>>
>>63635633
The Beatles.
Well that was surprisingly easy, huh, wasn't it?
>>
>>63635535
she is a literal victim of lobotomisation
>>
>>63635787
how are beatles pop?

>strong feminist woman
>>
>>63635826
What is pop to you and what don't you like about it? lol. The beatles are pop.
>>
>>63635746
Yeah she is beautiful and has a lovely warm deep voice, but her music is too unorganized in terms of the direction she wants to go in. If she'd be happy with making more generic love songs like Adele does but with more of a "vintage" style (red dresses and classic cars, orchestras and old microphones) and just went with being a classy beauty in the music industry overall, she'd have a real shot imo
>>
>>63635843
yeah that song i posted by the beatles is sure like the definition of pop music.

stop asking retarded question and link me a good pop song
>>
>>63635826
pop is an umbrella term, yes i know this is hard to understand as an underage newfag but pop encompasses a lot of music
>>
>>63635873
It's really hard when I don't know what you don't like about pop music. Pop is kind of umbrella term.

Chvrches do pretty good pop music
>>
>>63635719
>I think her problem

she has no problem. her music is great.

her first 3 albums are high tier.

her pre-album shit is great (aka lizzy grant).

i like her much better than 99% of mu's favorites
>>
>>63635719
>'strong feminist woman'

literally you have not listened to her music
>>
>>63635535
Why are you so incable of criticiquing something without overused buzzwords? Yes, her music tends to be same-y and her character is bland, but her image is far from 'quirky.'
>>
>>63636344
Do I make a habit of using these overused buzzwords? lol.
>>
>>63635746
Word. For her, I'm good with listening to one song a month. But anymore than that and I tend to just fall asleep.

It lacks any sort of excitement, and I don't mean that to say her music needs loud as fuck drums and whistle notes. Her music literally goes nowhere.
>>
>>63636344
"Look at how different I am. Look I don't follow the rules. I'm a bad girl." lol. Give me a fucking break.
>>
>>63636441
Her image isn't about being "different" or "random" like Grimes or someone. It's a fairly obvious and explicit copy of 50s pop stars applied to the 10s. If anything she's too aloof to be quirky.
>>
>>63635535
she has such an ugly face
>>
>>63636724
I strongly disagree, but that has NOTHING to do with her music anyway.

totally
>>
>>63636734
I'm genuinely not sure if that's her or Caitlyn Jenner
>>
>>63636724
It's probably the lips, they're way too big to be "sexy"
>>
>>63635535
>quirky?

She acts likes she's got three Oxycontins in her at all times.
>>
is she still relevant? i mean i remember when her first album came out had a lot of hype. video games and other tracks whose names i don't remember anymore. She always appeared to me to be very fake, not just her whole persona but also her music. Video games was catchy, even tho i completely hated it.

I hate this bitch so much. She's for retarded special snowflake girls that think they've reached nonconformist good taste since they now think Meghan trainer is shit.
>muh
>muh hipster xD aesthetic
>>
>>63636441
No even trying to meme here, but have you ever thought she's that way because the environment she grew up in?

I can't even name another musician who goes for the "rich girl, daddy's money type"
>>
she doesn't really try and do pop, she just does her own thing
>>
Born to Die and Honeymoon suck complete ass. But Ultraviolence is a legit 7/10 in my opinion.
>>
partly because Lana is using an 'award winning' song writing crew instead of grizzled jazz survivors

also she is being groomed for long term appeal for example appearing in a Ferrari jacket in Italy. The kick back is the loss of belief in her as an individual sincere musical voice.

She becomes a product.
>>
>>63635604
the only kind of post where itaots gets any kind of mention
>>
I sincerely like Lana

I dig the aesthetic even if its a shameless rip-off of past artists.
>>
>>63635535
Must be bait, she has literally zero quirkiness and seems to be pushing a "I-am-bored"-image.
