I'd start with Post or Debut, they are her more pop-oriented and eclectic releases.

If you enjoy the lush strings+electronics go for Homogenic, Vespertine and Vulnicura.

If you prefer more experimental, I suggest Medùlla and Drawing Restraingt 9

If you like her voice with jazz, listen to Gling-Gló

If you're more of an ambient guy, go for Biophilia

I heard Bork for the first time when I was about 7-8 years old. It was on "old MTV" and it was the music video for Hunter. I was struck down by its psychedelic visuals and cosmic razor sharp icy music. Then, as a child I gradually forgot about her until I saw her on TV again, opening the Athens Olympics. Since then I adore every musical world that she created. She is my biggest inspiration and my best music teacher. She taught me to appreciate the beauty of sound and to see music in nature.

Thanks for sharing anon. She's my biggest inspiration as well. I'd say she's the first true musician I listened to in depth, and I thank her for introducing me to many new sounds. LONG LIVE BJERK

Hyperballad is her best song.

I still haven't returned to Medùlla in its entirety. I should probably revisit it since I remember some tracks were killer

Björk is one of the greatest minds of the contemporary scene in which to art is concerned. She has the ability to combine pure poetry, perfectly executed melodies, visual accompaniments that fit perfectly with each idea of what the songs represent, and last but not least, a unique voice that comes deep inside one and touches the inner senses.

Her vocal lines are pure gold, Aurora, Hyperballad and Jòga (just to name three random songs) are two giant classics in which you can contemplate her ability to incorporate pure passion in the voice. Bjork's spontaneous way to use vocal chords is immaculate.
>>
>>63616272
I don't know. I listened to it when I was in the subway station in a rush hour surrounded by a ton of people. It just sounds so enveloping and cocoon like.

But I don't feel it. It's calming and soothing.
>>
The only songs I know with Bjork are "It's Oh So Quiet" and "Birthday" by the Sugarcubes. I agree with her a lot on social issues like Feminism and Gay Rights as well as her political views.

Where do I begin? Should I first listen to the Sugarcubes or just start with her solo work?
>>
John Tavener loved the rawness of her voice so much he wrote a composition for her:

I very much enjoyed the darker turn Vulnicura took. I think when all's said and done, that's gonna be the album's relative legacy within her discography. I can't say a whole lot of her music is particularly bleak but Vulnicura took you down some dark places, man.
