I need music with these things in it
>passionate vocals with personality
>strong melodic qualities
>quality screaming
>explosive and disorienting drums
>strong dynamics
>abrupt and unpredictable song structures
>Lots of instrumentation
Pic related, I love it. Doesn't have to be Japanese. I also really enjoy DG, but would like to listen to something that steers away from hip hop. Thanks for any recs.

Most melodic metal I guess

Melt Banana

Have I got something for you. Sans the first track.
>>63552735
example?
>>63552767
Listening now. I've enjoyed a Thrice song once or twice in the past, but it's usually not my thing. I'll give this a shot though.
>>63553170
It's a fairly diverse album
Fire is post hardcore
Water is electronic
Air is Alt Rock
Earth is folk
>>63552921
Really surprised why I haven't explored this band more, this is pretty sweet. Do you recommend anything specific album? The closer to Midori the more I'd probably enjoy it tb-aytch
>>63553061
Holy shhhhit this is fucking gooooooood! This might be the best album I've listened to in months, thanks anon!
>>63553281
thanks for the heads up, I wouldn't have known what I was listening to haha

seriously though whoevers idea it was to take a jazz piano trio and replace the drums with a loud rock drumkit and add a screaming lady with a guitar deserves a medal for being awesome. Shame Goto-san had to start making terrible pop-rock music.
>>63555052
Still would destroy, though.

>seriously though whoevers idea it was to take a jazz piano trio and replace the drums with a loud rock drumkit and add a screaming lady
When you spell it all out like that it's a miracle this exists
>when your album cover is better than your music
>>63552671
Sounds like Afrirampo to me, Original Pablo!
>>63555052
Her vocals kind of ruin Midori for me. I like the idea but the cute Japanese girl voice thing is juxtaposed annoyingly here, even if that was the intention.
>>63552671
find some good post-hardcore. Definitely listen to Relationship of Command by At The Drive-In if you haven't

Wow I really did just spell out what was going on. I didn't need to do that, did I? Either way I haven't ever heard anything like it.
>>63555747
It's more fun if you can understand the lyrics. Or at least partially. From what I can make out that is a very fitting album cover.
>>63552671
Does anyone have translated lyrics to the songs on this album? Would really appreciate it
>>63555978
Learn the language. You'll think us later.
This has all of those, except the screaming.

Jun Togawa doesn't tick all of these, but you'll probably like her if you like midori.
>>63556631
Do you mind not constantly spreading awareness of her like that? She's kept on the downlow for a reason.

>Passionate as fuck, Capital G has Trump levels of personality
>quality screaming, especially Hyperpower and My Violent Heart
>Explosive and jarring until The Great Destoyer
>Instrumentation/sampling is crazy as fuck. My Violent Heart has images placed in static when run through an audio spectrometer.
11/10 Aphex twin-tier album with clear, diverse vocals and is based upon multiple books. Every song has a different perspective. If you can stomach something different, it might be right up your alley.

I should probably add that if /pol/ had an album, it would be this.

To me the band that defines your request is Nomeansno. Easy to go through your checklist and see that all applies.
On the surface they are a post-hardcore punk band, but really they are quite unique and impossible to describe so check it out, and keep in mind this covers like a 20 year period so there is some variety

How many wholes can a young buck fuck if a young buck could fuck wholes
There's more to see in the cunt of a flea than in the darkness of your soul, I know
Who is who and what is what, what barks like a dog and quacks like a duck
When the lightning cracks and the wild wind blows you can stick that smell right up your nose
Damned if you do and damned if you don't, i hope those big lead boots can float
On the rivers of blood raised in a flood to wash these words right down your throat
Turn to the thing that's by your side, look into what you hope are eyes and cry
I see a mansion in the sky

be warned it's very very repetitive, but this band is fucking nuts and if you explore them a bit you'll find lots of the sort of lunacy and intensity you are after.
