Found it when I was 14 after going on /b/ off and on for 4 months. Saw this website had a music board and I've been on here regularly since.

started in 2009/2010 can't remember clearly, went on a couple year hiatus in 2012, around 2014 periodically lurk for the most part. Much more memey here nowadays.

when i was in high school i always used to go on /b/ and reddit (i know, i know) but then i went through a period of hiatus where i did alot of self reflection and decided to stop being a faggot. now i only go on mu and fa (so im technically still a faggot)

Then I checked it out again a few threads later and the sm.h tb.h fa.m cancer took it over, so I just started using the rest of the board.

Actually the opposite in my case. Started lurking here in 2010 and I became the worst kind of /mu/drone. Then moved over to /a/ and /fa/ permanently. Now that those boards have gone to shit I've started to come back to /mu/.

Yeah. If anything, 4chan is gotten better as a whole, people are more literate and come off as more intelligent than they did even a few years ago.
I will say that /tv/-style memes have taken over 4chan, though. We used to spam things because they were funny, now we just autistically post the same shit over and over again until it becomes a meme, for meme's sake. It's like post-memeing or something.

The same as it was from about 2009-2012. /mu/core was very real (ITAOTS was inescapable), p4k was more widely accepted, pop music and female artists' body of work weren't discussed as much as they are now but the board was less patrician on the whole. It was funnier in my opinion.
