I used to only listen to the most abstract, strange prog rock other shit, and would put on things like 808 state at parties to try be cool but peoPls would laugh because of the birds sounds
One time I even put on Brian Eno at a house party and everyone was like holy shit this is gay
I also went through a Brief phase of dressing in all black and exclusively listening to white nationalist power electronics and actually played some when hanging out with friends (I'll let you imagine the response)
Now I listen to things like Bones and Yung Lean and hazy trap music in order to compensate because I am worried people still think I'm a pretentious loser who uses taste to validate myself
