Humbug is great, but it's kind of irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, like, WPSITWIN is kind of irrelevant too because it doesn't bring anything new to the game, but is one of the principal actors in the 2000's "Post Punk" Revival, so it should be remembered because of that. Humbug, on the other hand, was a great album that didn't cause any BIG effect in the public.
That's why everybody talks about WPSIATWIN and not Humbug. Culturally, the first was the more relevant. Still, AM seems to have caused a lot of noise (because of NME), so maybe in the future that's the one everybody will talk about, the album that finally made them famous in the U.S.
