50 days without smoking and wondering why I'm doing this to myself. Music for this feel.
>>

Fall in love with a girl who tells you not to smoke.
>>

Cigarettes are not only cancer inducing and shorten your life, they are also disgusting and smell terrible.

The tiny little high you get from your nicotine addiction doesn't worth it

>>63470955
It's all up to your will power. if your will to stop smoking will be stronger than your addiction, that's when you will stop. basically, you can stop smoking but you need to want it hard enough.

If you really want, you could go to the hospital and ask the doctors how much of the lung-cancer cases they get are smokers. maybe this will give you some motivation.
>>
>>63471016
Fucking hell anon
>>
>>63471109
>tiny little high
That's an interesting way of phrasing what I would call a nearly transcendental euphoria
>>
>>63470468
Just get through the withdrawals, and keep that shit out of site and out of mind. You can make it, brah. I finally successfully quit a few years ago and it was such a great, self-empowering decision. Just remind yourself that you're stronger than the plant.

It's your addiction.

Your life will be much better AND longer once you'll stop smoking
>>
>>63470468
at this point the only problem you have with them is mentally. all the nicotine and the withdrawals are out of you physically by now. it's a mind game at this point
>>
i switched to plain tobacco which doesnt feel as awful on my body. good luck OP
music wise listen to the books, not for any reason theyre just good

>>63471250
you are being silly right now. you don't actually want to die young in a slow and painful death from lung cancer, you are just trying to make excuses for your addiction

Trust me, if you'll get lung cancer, which is not unlikely since you are smoking, you are going to regret you smoked.
>>
>>63471285
just fuck off and let people do what they want lmao
>>
>>63471285
I'm not even OP, I'm just saying there are some people who's lives are shitty enough that they want to die young and painfully

my father raped me a bunch of times and that trauma has reduced me to a shut-in mess of a person

>my father raped me a bunch of times and that trauma has reduced me to a shut-in mess of a person

No you did that with your own free will. Sorry about your dad, but you have to become strong. The world is shit. Live your life to the fullest, or an hero. That's my view.
>>
>>63471325
What do those things have to do with each other? They fulfill completely different needs in your body. They are completely different things in general.
>>
>>63471360
>needs

You have a lot to learn, friend.
>>
>>63471371
I used to fast for sometimes months. Quitting smoking is literally a worse feeling than almost starving to death. Not saying its an actual need, but it definitely feels that way.

i'll bet theres atleast a dozen substances u abuse on a daily basis, but their considered normal so you delude yourself
>>

>Live your life to the fullest, or an hero. That's my view.

This is only said by people who have not been through any real traumatic shit.
>>
>>63472498
What kind of argument is that. Traumatized people tend to think their life sucks because they can't enjoy it to the fullest. A lot of them try to an hero at some point.
>>
>>63472580
>>63472498
oops, misread that. the argument would go against the other part.
>>
>>63471109
You only consider the smell bad because you associate it with the side effects of smoking. My Granddad used to smoke constantly so it's actually quite a nostalgic smell for me. Also, wait til there's a cure for most cancers and literally everyone will be smoking. There'd be no reason not to

>>
>>63473000
Wow pretty cool
>>
>>63470468
some cool anon was telling me about mindfulness (in terms of listening to music) but is apparently used to give up smoking too. its to do with really focusing on whats happening in the moment and when you actually d this it makes you acutely aware of the nasty, bitter taste most non-smokers experience that gets beaten out of you by addiction.

>>63473000
also, nice.
>>
Alcoholic here on day 1 of stopping

Feels scary man
>>
>>63470468
As a non smoker, please explain to me why people smoke tobacco, in general, except for looking cool by doing so.
>>
>>63473415
Feels good and gives a task or a reason to go for a drive or step outside.
>>
>>63470955
I know 3 people who swear by the self help book by Allen Carr

that said I think it's just mental and you need some discipline boy
>>
>>63473415
It was a really intense feeling for me, that initiated a unique mixture of focus and calm. I guess I also subconsciously associated them with really positive memories of old friends/gfs. They also gave me really vivid dreams.
>>
>>63473415
they become addicted to nicotine are you stupid anon
>>
>>63473415
For me, it gives me a buzz, then im chilled out for a while afterwards. It also works as an excuse to go outside or remove yourself from a stressfull social situation.

They're also great after a big meal or with coffe in the morning.

>>
>>63470468
I actually wanna quit for a while just to get back to it and have that nicotine buzz and shit again because nowdays i'm just smoking for addiction and there's no buzz or anything anymore.
>>
I started vaping instead of smoking

its pretty nice
>>
>>63474065
remember your first drag anon? weak knees and light headed... like the gf you never had.
>>
>>63473947
You don't get addicted immediately. I smoke tobacco in spliffs because that's the drill around here and I'm not addicted to it. But I was curious what exactly you are feeling so that you want it again
>>
>>63474095
i've never had a gf but i lost my virginity this weekend.
I also feel the same about weed, and i don't even smoke much weed (just when i'm with friends, i don't buy my own shit), the first time i smoked weed was like wow.

Just hopping in here, some music may actually induce nicotine cravings... Like jazz or grunge...
You get used to using your cigarettes as a sort of accessory to your music.
I'd recommended some music that sparks an interest for going to the beach because life is always better by the beach and you can easily imagine that cleansing sea smell. Or even some tunes that inspire the awe of life.
Tycho would be nice.

this is weird. just wanted to find some music and found this thread. i just quit smoking 4 days ago. and i got a new vaporizer mod, and i'm actually liking this more than the cigarettes. i get custom juices at a local shop. call it a mouth fedora if you want but its awesome i might get my gf one because she puffs it more than me
>>
18-20 year olds who are still in the romantic early stages (1-2 years) of being a smoker are the most insufferable

PS until you quit you will never be able to tell how bad you really do smell after having a cig, even if you were outside and downwind.

honestly when really drunk smoking a cigarette would just give me the most euphoric feeling ever. especially when i was like 18. when you're not too experienced with drinking or smoking yet. me and my friends would fucking just have to lie down because our knees would buckle. but it was crazy good
>>
>>63470993
This desu, I quit smoking because my girlfriend hates it.
>>
>>63470955
i use nicotine gum, whenever i get the cravings i start chewing on that shit, it actually helps.
