Can we get a lo-fi hip hop thread going? I've really been digging cLOUDDEAD's self titled recently.

I'm not sure what you're getting at.
cLOUDDEAD's early EPs were recorded in bedrooms on a shitty 8 track cassette recorder with crappy keyboards, RadioShack mics and the most basic Boss samplers so it's definitely lo-fi.

There's surface noise on Big Dada final master, you dumbass. They were literally poor.
Restiform Bodies' first album is very similar to Clouddead. They later signed to Anticon.

There were nine of the Anticon guys, including Clouddead, sharing a three-bedroom apartment at one point apparently.

Fun fact; the art for pic related's initial release were cut and glued from bulk copies made at Kinko's.

Restiform Bodies's self-titled is fantastic but it doesn't really sound like Clouddead at all
Old Three 6 Mafia is a lo-fi goldmine.

I meant more that they have a similar lo-fi approach and that whole weird samples/sound collage thing going on.
Try this. I was digging around in the archive one day and found this guy while searching for something else. It's kind of got a lo-fi/shitty recording vibe to it. Pretty interesting stuff.
Definitely check out the Boards of Canada remix of cLOUDDED
