thanks for the recc bruh was really feeling some of these, my only advice would be finish them! just a bit of time spent mixing and mastering would do them a world of good imo, i used to be just like this but just read up on some mixing tchniques and mess about and train your ear and its not as much work as youd think, but overall real nice work senpai

The main reason I put them up unpolished is just to get the ideas down, and if someone wants to use a beat I'll finish it up and master/mix it. That way, I get practice while still being able to get beats out there

Op here, i can comment my thought about velocity and why i use it MINORLY, to get more variation, if you have a lot of chops (i do) then you can get it to sound a bit more intresting with velocity changes or more relastic with drum sounds for an example , drummers dont hit as hard every time the hit the drum so you could switch up velocity on that as well if you would like that, maybe you already do so :)

yeh i always try to get some velocity on my drums or use a few different hi-hat/kick/snare hits from a break to capture a more natural feel but never really do it n the sample itself,, partially because my pads are pretty knackered and i need to open my maschine up and give it a clean but will definitely try experimenting with sample velocity

i like the development of the sample and the overall vibe i think it just needs some major EQ work! only listening on laptop speakers but couldnt hear the kick, decent idea i just think the mix needs tidying up. take an EQ and with a thin frequency band-width (think thats the right term) and boost the fuck out of of it then move the boost around and wen the noise is most abbrasive then cut those frequencies,should make more room in the mix or other elements. also look into sidechaining the kick etc. will help bring it out. good start though reminds me of a DOOM interlude

yeh but as everyone always says loudness doesnt equal good and usually id just turn up but not at my house so only got my little sisters laptop speakers and it struck me that potentially a lot of people listen on these kinda speakers, overall really liked the beat tho man, as i said ive followed and will keep an eye out for your new beats for sure!
