Why dont you use spotify?
>>
I used it for a while, but switched to google music so I could supplement their streaming gaps with my own uploads.
>>
>>63413919
coz the first guy to introduce me spotify was a complete nerd ass faggot who grinds dota 20000 hours a year so it just seemed lame and i rather starting using youtube for music.
>>
because $
>>
I use Apple music
>>63414322
It's free you broke bitch
>>
Because of the terrible UI and limited organizational features
>>
But i do.

Mostly becuase my band is on there.
>>
>>63413935
What heroes does he play most? I'll tell you if he is truly a faggot.
>>
Like most "music screaming" disservices, Spotify is based on proprietary malware (DRM and snooping). Recently it demanded users submit to increased snooping, and some are starting to realize that it is nasty.

However, it was nasty all along. Any "service" that is based on not letting people have their own copies is a scheme to subjugate people. Once you submit, they are always ready to use that leverage to subjugate you more.

This article shows the twisted ways that they present snooping as a way to serve users better — never mind whether they want that. This is a typical example of the attitude of the proprietary software industry towards those they have subjugated.

Out, out, damned Spotify!

because i don't like the web player and there's ads on desktop and on mobile you can't chose your tracks (unless you pay)
>>
>>63414332
Yeah, with ads and only shuffle option on phone
>>
I use it on my laptop, but not my phone.

I always just download the music I listen to and put it on my foobar playlist. Spotify is good for discovering new music though, but I'm not going to pay premium for just that.

Though I got 3 months of premium for $1 in some trial promotion, and it is quite nice. I probably wouldn't pay the full price (though it would work nice with the unlimited data plan I have on my phone)
>>
>>63414453
why do u use foobar? what advantages does it have over, say Winamp (which im using right now)
>>

>>
>>63414500
I haven't used any of the newer versions of Winamp, neither have I followed it's development, but it has nicer UI and consumes less memory. (I have to say, I miss the compact version I could put in the corner of my screen)
>>
>>63414500
Foobar is simple as fuck and fully customizable. Winamp has been bloated for years.

If you just have a library full of mp3s/flac files, foobar is for you.
>>

i dont have it

Foobar may be fully custom, but it's only as good as you can make it. Speaking solely for myself here, but I can't design for shit. Would recommend MusicBee (what I'm using)
>>
Won premium for 3 years in a raffle a while back, it's actually a pretty solid service but I don't know if I'd be willing to shell out 15 bucks a month when it expires
>>
It doesn't have as much music as it claims to. There are just some things streaming services are incapable of.

I do. And iTunes and Tidal.

I do and I love it

There is literally not even one case in which someone with Google Music would need Spotify.

does it have a wide assortment of techno, garage and house singles? Google Play doesn't have anything good.

if it doesn't then it's shittier than youtube and there's no reason to use it.

Amazon prime music is underrated.
>Decent music library that's always expanding

I honestly don't know, I've never had issues looking for anything but at the same time I only really used it to find similar bands to the ones I'm currently really into. It does that job pretty well most of the time.

>>
>>63418566
It's best to have more than one streaming service, to cover more music, as Tidal, Spotify and Google Music have different selections but the same amount overall. iTunes has the biggest library but there are even a few things on there that aren't on Spotify etc.
>>
>>63418571
the interface for browsing your own music is terrible. in fact the whole interface is terrible, made me switch to tidal. stop trying to shill your failing service
>>

I've never used the mobile one but the PC Interface works wonderfully on my excellent laptop. Maybe try not using a homosexual PC?
>>
>>63418665
You can still add your own music to playlists and it scrolls and displaysfine on my non-homosexual PC. Tidal is good also, though. The HD is fantastic! I'm not shilling i'm just a happy user.

heres why I dont stream. Go look at radiohead's discog on spotify. They have every album but IR. fuck that. they didnt even have the fucking Beatles for ages. You can't find everything... You get recced an album, whoops it's not on spotify, what do? download it and use spotify's shit excuse for a local music manager? you cant even see the fucking album art, just tracks. And what if I want to re-order some of the tracks, go look at the wikipedia page for the soft bulletin, it has several different tracklistings. Cant do that shit with spotify. When I dl music I can put everything in genres, I can group everything based on how many times ive listened to it, etc.

Because they force people to listen to albums on shuffle if they don't pay for premium.

Any company that 'cares' about music would never do that shit.
>>
Because i'll be listening to some soft chill song then all of a sudden a loud as fuck obnoxious comercial will come on and destroy the mood. I would pay if it was cheaper but $10 a month is too much, shit costs more than Netflix.
>>
>>63414376

>company purposely bombards users with obnoxious ads to coerce them into paying $5-10/month
>compensates artists with pennies
>forces non-premium users to listen to albums out of order

I refuse to give them money. They don't care about the music or the artists.

The US's Spotify is absolute shit. When I had a VPN subscription, I accidentally connected to a French server and the ads were amazing. They were so smooth and quiet and laid back. I might go download a free VPN just to listen to European Spotify ads.
>>
>>63422005
It's perfectly legal though which means the artists get what they deserve. So, use Premium and enjoy!

>>63413919
but, anon, i do use spotify
>>
Because it's the worst option.

If I want new music, I use Soulseek. Free, no ads, convenient.
Then I buy actual copies of what I like best. The artists get more money that way, and I get to keep the music.
>>
>>63422179
>It's perfectly legal though which means the artists get what they deserve.
That's not what "legal" means.

Slow as fuck. Torrents are easier, faster and more reliable. Also safer if you read comments.
>>
>>63422857
I'd pick soulseek over torrents anyday, soulseej has literally everything while torrent sites don't have jack shit
Also I don't mind waiting like two minutes for an album to download, I got plenty of music to listen to in the meantime
