Thoughts on this album?
Brilliant, 10/10, better than most of the music it inspired sadly
Genre defining masterpiece, one of the greatest albums of the 80s, use of feedback, distortion and noise mixed with pop music is game breaking
Never Understand is my favorite. I kinda wish they they had don't more tracks like that.
I guess A place to Bury Strangers goes to show the limits of that direction though

great album. had a huge impact on so many great bands
it's aight.
way overrated tho
A perfect representation of apathy in sound format. The monotonous singing, drumming and vague lyrics are a brilliant contrast to the guitars' screeching feedback.

I know I'll make some good music and probably even more refined and intricate but I'll never be able to do something like this record is all too cool. just sounds like the coolest motherfuckers ever
Always preferred Darklands, but it's still pretty damn good.
8/10
Was part of my summer soundtrack of 1989. Good stuff. Totally different band live though. Still equally impressive, though.
My pet bird loves Never Understand, we're all in the same boat m8

As albums overall I personally prefer Darklands and Automatic, but I totally see why this is a favorite for so many. Also Just Like Honey will always be my favorite song on it's own by them. Great album for sure.
