Is there a difference between listening to music out loud and listening to music with headphones?
>>63399133
yeah, the difference is you are a fucking idiot

Headphones
>sound isolation
>you look like a shithead
>develop tinnitus
Speakers
>no sound isolation, so good for friends or at home
>you act like a shithead
>inhibit tinnitus
Speakers are superior

>inhibit tinnitus
you have never been to a concert, huh?
Speakers are better for more visceral genres like rock, dance and hip hop. Headhones are better for texture oriented genres like ambient and shoegaze
>>63399208
>tinnitus
only if you are a retard and listen to it too loud
>>63399304
guess how i listen to Grimes
I always fall asleep when I'm listening to music with headphones.
>>63399208
>speakers inhibit tinnitus
i don't think you know what the word inhibit means
>>63399360
Fuck off.
>>63399304
the words "loud" shouldn't be in a musicians' vocabulary
>>63399369
be careful. falling asleep with headphones is terrible for your hearing unless the music is at a very low volume

Kevin Shields himself has said that he doesn't see MBV as headphone music, that it's meant for speakers. Listening to it loud on speakers is actually very good, comparable to something like drone metal played loud, it's music that benefits from surrounding you and being loud enough to really feel.
That being said, I still love listening to shoegaze in headphones, it's just a bit different. Personally I don't find one way better than the other by a large margin though, I just found that interesting.

headphones give you a constructed representation of bass frequencies rather than actual bass since the distance form your ear to the speaker is smaller than the wavelength of low mid to bass frequencies so they cant be directly perceived
>>63399133
You're meant to feel the bass in your lower body
>>63399304
>Headhones are better for texture oriented genres like ambient
Could be wrong but I don't feel like I can get the real atmosphere without the restriction of headphones. I like when the entire room gets enveloped and I can move around while experiencing the sound.

>not listening to hip-hop with texture oriented production
